After about 15 minutes of passionately kissing, and running our hands around each other's backs beneath or shirts, I began to panic about Douglas. I pulled back and smiled at Chris.

"That was amazing boo, but I want to find Doug. I'll be back soon my love." I gave him another kiss before standing up and wondering into the kitchen. "Oh my goodness. Chris!"

I heard Chris get up and run towards me. "What's wrong mi amor." He turned me around and looked at me worried himself.

"Nothing. Doug. He." I turned back around in his arms and looked at the kitchen. "He cleaned up everything from the pancakes and filled the dishwasher. He hasn't put it on, but it's all filled and correctly. The table and bench has been wiped down to some extent as well."

"You clearly train him well Mandy." He smirked.

"He's never helped before, he just watches me do it. I have to find him."

I ran into his bedroom and found him playing with his trains. I sat beside him and watched for a while. "Dougy?"

"Yeah mama." He let go of the train and looked up at me.

"Thank you so much gorgeous. Thank you for tidying up the kitchen after breakfast, you are such a big boy now and I'm so proud of you."

"You and daddy deserved your special moment. And I was a little in the way." He giggled lightly. "I wanted to help you so I cleaned up, I didn't know how to actually do the dishwasher though, so yeah, I didn't put it on, but I filled it for you."

I wrapped my arm around him and pulled him into my lap. "Thank you so much Dougy. You're the best kid in the world, and I love you so much. I love you just as much as I love your dad, but don't tell him that." I gave him a kiss and held him tightly.

"Don't tell daddy what?" Chris poked his head around the door.

"Nothing Daddy, I'm telling Daddy nothing." Douglas giggled. I laughed with him and smiled up. "Thank you for being the best step-mom in the world Mandy. I love you so much mama." He gave me another kiss and hugged me tight.

"Are you excited to meet my parents tonight? Abuela Robin and Abuleo Paul."

"Yeah." Doug said excitedly then turned back to his trains.

"I'm terrified." Chris said coming and sitting next to me, as we watched Doug play. I leant on his arm and wrapped my arm around him.

"It'll be fine babe. They will love you, I know they will. They'll love Doug as well, he's an angel and I know he'll be well behaved for them."

"They do know about Doug right? You have told them that I have a kid?"

"Of course they know about Doug. Whenever I call them they ask how I am, then ask about how things are with you, then they always ask about Doug. They are excited to meet you babe. You will be absolutely fine mi amor. And if they don't like you, for some insane reason, I don't care. I love you and nothing is going to change that, okay. I don't give a damn what my parents think of you, but I know they will love you. I told you how they met, through a pen pal program in the Vietnam war. My moms parents didn't like my dad initially, but they still stayed together and look where they are now."

"They are still together and have the most wonderful daughter in the world, well and your brother and sister of course, but they had you. And I love you so much, that no matter what they think, I know you will always be by my side. I also want you to know, that I'll always be there by your side as well."

I smiled at my boyfriend, "I love you Chris."

"I love you too Mandy." I gave him a quick kiss and then turned back to watch Doug. "I did tell you my mom is coming as well now, right?" She's staying on the pull out couch and your parents in the spare room."

"No!" I said looking at him. "So, we are now both meeting each other's families, for the first time, at the opening night of the show on Broadway. Okay. Wow. This just suddenly became so much more stressful."

"Hey Mandy. You will be fine. We both will. I've talked a lot about you to them and they are really excited to meet you. She absolutely loved V and I know she will love you too. I told her that your parents are over and she said she would be fine on the couch."

"Oh okay when will I see her?"

"I was hoping you could meet her while you're parents are changing and getting ready after our lunch with them. She said we could just meet in the lobby of the theatre and then we can introduce your parents to my mom after. I'm pretty sure Lin said he'd try and put all four tickets together."

"Okay. That's fine." The two of us sat just watching Doug play with his trains.
