"CHRISSSS!." I yelled, He was working in our home studio, working on songs for an album we wanted to do together. "CHRISTOPHER JACKSON!" I stood in the kitchen of our new house in Washington Heights, 40 weeks pregnant trying to grab a snack for Doug, who was doing his homework at his desk in the study. "CHRIS!" I called leaning against the counter.

"Mama, What's wrong? Where's my snack?" Doug came in and he looked at the floor. "Did you spill some water?"

"Just got upstairs and get your father. He's in the studio." I said panting.

"Oh Okay." He picked up a carrot stick that was on the bench and ran upstairs. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths.

"Babe, what's up?" Chris said running in. "Shit!" He clearly saw. "Okay, stay calm honey, take deep breaths." He said flustered.

"Chris, that's not helping. Just help, bags in the corner of our room." I screamed as I experienced a contraction. He kissed my temple as Doug stood there confused. I rested my hand under my large belly and took deep breaths. "Please Kayla, stay there a little longer sweetie." I whispered.

"Okay Douglas, can you go and get the bags by the door in Mama and Daddy's room? Do it one at a time." Chris turned to his son.

"Why's mama crying daddy? Is she hurt?"

"She's fine, your little sister is coming, so we have to go to the hospital." He was clearly doing his best to stay calm for me, which I was thankful for. Doug ran as Chris called the hospital. "Hello...Yes...My fiancée's water just broke." I loved it when he said fiancée. "Yes, Mandy Gonzalez, Washington Heights...Okay... we'll be there as fast as possible... thank you." He hung up and put his phone in his pocket. "Okay babe, slow steps, I'm going to help you into our car and we'll all drive down together, I'll call you're parents once there so they can come get Doug in case we have to stay in overnight." I nodded weakly as another contraction came. My parents were in New York so they could watch Douglas. They were currently out at the moment doing touristy things. Chris carefully led me though the kitchen and hallway, out the door into his car. He buckled me in and helped Doug with the bags. "Climb in and do your seatbelt." I heard him say. Soon enough Douglas was in the car with me.

"It'll be okay mama. Respira. Like Nina did." I smiled. He missed not getting to see the show once a month. We had seen it in August for our two year anniversary. He picked up so much more of it then, so he made small references when he could to help keep it in his mind.

"Thanks Dougy. Are you excited to meet your sister? Because I am."

"Yeah, very exciting. Will I get to hold her?"

"Of course you will monkey. You can sit on the special bed and I'll support you."

"Yay." Chris then jumped in and instantly drove off to the hospital. After what felt like an eternity, we arrived. Chris had two bags, one on his back, one in his arm. He had his arm around my waist helping me walk. I had one arm under my stomach holding the bump. I held Doug's hand with the other. We made our way in and I was given a wheelchair to sit in. I was taken up to my room in Labor and Delivery. Once in the bed I was finally able to relax, calm down and breathe. I was hooked up to the machines to measure my contractions, I was already 5 cm dilated. Chris walked over to the window and called my mom.

"Hey Robin, it's Chris... Mandy's fine, she's gone into labor and we are now in the hospital with Doug....Okay yes... we'll see you soon then.... Oh if you head home, be careful in the kitchen, Mandy's water broke while in there and I didn't have time to tidy it up.... okay see you soon, bye." He hung up, once my hand was back in his, I calmed down and smiled at him. "I love you Mandy." He leaned over and gently kissed me.
