52 - Promises?

"Doug catch." I pass him the ball, he caught it then threw it to Chris. Chris then passed it back to Doug who threw it to me. "You're very good at this Dougy. High five." He ran towards me and jumped in the air as he hit my hand. "Yay" I picked him up and spun him around. He giggled his usual little giggle. "You're getting so big. I won't be able to carry you soon Dougy."

"But, I like it when you carry me mama. Or when you spin me around or pick me up."

"I know you do baby, but you're growing up."

"Okay." He frowned slightly. I felt bad for him, but it was just what happened.

"But you will always be our little monster." I spun him around once more before resting him on my hip. He giggled and Chris walked over to the two of us as we all laughed together.

"My two favourite people in the world. My incredible son and my beautiful girlfriend." He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me gently. I smiled against his lips, happy to be in the moment with my incredible family. We grab lunch and then play a few games. Before I know it Doug's sitter, Lexi, arrives. "Hey lexi, Sunday, so should be back before bedtime. Do what you want for dinner."

"Alright. We'll see you later."

"Bye mama, bye daddy." Douglas gave us each a hug and a kiss. "I love you both. Have a good show."

"Love you too Dougy." I said before we walked out the door. Chris and I had our hand interlocked as we walked to the theatre. Once we arrived Chris lead me to the stage rather than our dressing rooms. There was a single spotlight on the centre of the stage. He took me into it.

"So before I say anything else, I'm not quite proposing to you yet, but I'm sure I will do that very soon. Because you are the love of my life and I want to spend the rest of it with you."

I nodded simply, "Okay, well it's only been a year, maybe give it another few months. Let us talk about all first. We can discuss what we want in our futures at some point."

"Exactly what I was thinking gorgeous. So what I was going to say this evening. Mandy Gonzalez, we've been together for one year. It seems crazy, but it's been the best year of my life. I love you more than anything. I really do. I want to make you a few promises for life. Firstly I want to promise you that I will always be there for you though think and thin. I promise that when we grow our family, I will love each and every child equally, no matter their mother. I promise that you will always be my one and only. I promise to always support your career no matter what happens in the future. And finally I promise to love you forever and always. To show these promises I got you this."

He pulls the ring that would have been in the box out. It's very simple but is gorgeous. "Chris that's stunning."

He took my right hand in his. "Will you accept this promise ring and these promises from me? These five promises I'm making to you until we one day exchange vows hopefully."

"Yes Chris of course. And I cannot wait until I get to exchange vows with the love of my life." He slides the ring onto my finger and I throw my arms around his neck. "I love you Chris."

"I love you too Mandy." He puts his hands around my back as we kiss one another. I pull back from the sounds of cheering. All the lights are up and I look at the fire escapes and see all the cast standing on them watching and cheering.

"They all knew about this." I ask as I lean my head on his chest and look up at all my friends.

"Yeah. Anyway, we have a show to do."

"That we do." I give him another kiss. "I love you all." I shouted up to the cast. "And I love you the most." I said quietly to Chris before we headed to our dressing rooms.

The show went perfectly, Chris and I kissed in bows again then headed home. We paid Lexi, put Doug to bed after reading him a story then had dinner. Chris made me this gorgeous pasta bake thing that was incredible. We cuddled and kissed on the couch before heading to our bedroom. Chris kissed me passionately, we both stripped each other and before I knew it Chris was thrusting into me.

"Wow, that feels incredible babe." Chris picked up the pace until we both orgasmed. Chris pulled out of me and took off the condom in the bathroom. He returned and we fell asleep spooning, still naked. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
