Mallory's POV:
Curse the fozen world of Niflheim. Blitz, Magnus and I tried using the oars to push the ice that T.J. and Halfborn broke with their pick axes.
"Hey look." I croaked and pointed as I saw what looked like flickering fires. Hoping it wasn't some sort of tundra mirage we got out of the boat,
partnering up sharing large blankets. Sam and I shared one.
Though I couldn't help think that Halfborn would be warmer. Shut up Mallory, besides then T.J. and Sam would have to team up and I wasn't sure that Sam would be comfortable with that.
We walked what seemed like forever. I couldn't feel anything, it was cold. Sam and I didn't talk much it was too cold. We came to the cliffs, Blitz started digging a cave to attempt to shield us from the wind. A large giantess came to the cliff that had been opened to a door, "who dares rock shape my front door?" She asked.
"Why should I not kill you all?" She demanded, I could think of a few reasons, but my mouth was frozen shut.
"Wait!" Magnus said his voice weak, "Sk-Skadi... your Skadi right? I'm Magnus Chase, Njord is my grandfather. He sent me to find you."
I watched as the giant's face showed her emotions, irritated, resettlement, and finally curiosity. "All right frozen boy, that gets you in the door. Once you've thawed out and explained yourself I'll forced wether or not to use you for archery targets." She growled.
We all quickly shuffled inside, ad taken to separate rooms to warm up. I was given a bath, that when I put a toe in a few curses were pulled from my mouth. The servant gave me warm cloths, and I went back to the others, were we were served hot chocolate. Alex sat next to me then Gunderson, bet he was warm, even though my body temp had gone back to its original state it would be nice to cuddle with the giant radiator.
" Thunder Home," Halfborn nodded, "a good name considering, you know, the constant."
"I can't reach Gunderson, hit him for me will you?" I asked Alex who gladly complied.
After dinner, Skadi sent us to our rooms for the night. My chamber was cold, and there was a constant booming outside. Tears came to my eyes has they did most nights these days.
Eventually sleep must have come because, I was then awoken by Sam telling me that it was time to get up, what really got me out of bed was that she said they were going to pour ice water on Halfborn.
After breakfast Skadi gave us skies, and snow suits and sent us off. Halfborn and I shuffled around with ease, from a quest we went on a decade or so ago which required skies. T.J. had not come on that quest.
We skied down a nearly forty five degree slope, I heard Blitz screaming, I was doing better by keeping my mouth shut and not falling so that was an accomplishment. When we finally came to the boat our plan was in action.
