Mallory's POV:

I scrolled through social media on my phone. Checking the time for the eighteenth time in a little less then five minutes. Halfborn was late and I was getting bored sitting here. I hear someone enter the library, looking up I see it's my late friend.

"Look who decided to show up." I say sarcastically, he just rolls his eyes and takes a seat across from me.

"We don't have much left to do, right?" He asked and I shook my head.

"Just the last paragraph for the reflection and the proof reading. We shouldn't be here long." I said, taking out my laptop. "So I'll finish typing while you look over the rest of the project. Then I'll proof read the reflection and run it through that grammar checking website."

We worked in a comfortable silence until Halfborn finished his task as I was still finishing the last paragraph.

"Are you done yet?" He asked. Again.

"Ask one more time and I'll delete this paper." I threaten.

"Bluff." He snorted.

"Let's not find out, hmm?" I quickly typed the last words and copy and pasted it into the paper checker website.

"Is it finished." I shot him a look at his comment.

"So, Keen how do you think the lovebirds are doing?" Halfborn inquired.

"I don't know I'm not either of their keepers." I said, going through the paper one more time.

"And... Done." I say hitting print and walking over to the printer to retrieve the project. I tried to hide my blush as I felt Halfborn's eyes on me. Making sure I grabbed all the papers.

"Well, I'd say it's been a pleasure but..." I placed the papers in my folder and turned to leave just as I saw Alex and Magnus enter the library.

"Gunderson!" Alex greeted Halfborn. "I didn't know you were on a date."

I felt my face turn deep red. "No, never. Ridiculous." I went off into my native tongue.

"Yep. Keen here is as terrible as it gets." Halfborn added, I smacked his arm hard.

Alex and Magnus shared a knowing look and I felt my face grow two shades redder.

"Anyways, we were jus printing out our project. I think Mallory owes me some falafel if all four of us want to go." Magnus said moving towards the printer as it spit out their papers.

"I don't-" Magnus cut me off with a look. I didn't owe him any falafel. He wanted to hang out with Alex and didn't want it to be really awkward with just the two of them.

"Rrigghhtt," I drawled out. Not happy that it had to be my money we had to use, but willing to make the sacrifice. "That falafel."

"Sure. I'm hungry." Halfborn said.

"You're always hungry, oaf." I said.

"Like a bottomless pit, that reaks of armpit." Alex added, "I'll come too, would love to see Magnus puke because he ate too much falafel."

"No such thing as too much falafel." Magnus protested.

As we walked towards Amir's family's falafel stand there was a comfortable amount of chatter.

"So is Keen paying for everyone?" Halfborn asked as we neared the counter to order.

"I don't have enough money to pay for two stupid bottomless pits." I say, grabbing a twenty for Magnus' and I's order.
