This is based after Hammer of Thor but before Ship of the Dead
Mallory's POV:
I saw Halfborn in the library, he was talking with some other einherji, a girl with brown hair up in a perfect bun and perfect cloths. Anger boiled through me, then I scold myself. It's not like he can't talk to other girls, it's fine, calm down. I walked out the library to go find about another hall mate. Though it still itched to know he was laughing with some other girl.
"Hey Mal," Alex greeted, walking from, her room (she had announced that she was a she for today this morning).
"Hey Alex." I say pushing the itching feeling down.
We talk for a while until dinner. Halfborn was already seated by TJ and Magnus. "Hello, beautiful." Halfborn greeted.
"Shut up, oaf." I say, as me cheeks go red as usual, sitting next to him relief flowed over me.
         Everything was great until,
"Hey Halfborn!" The burnet from earlier said, coming up to us. "Are we going to go study?"
I glared at her, "yep," the oaf states before getting up and leaving. I burn a holes into the back of their heads.
"Gee, Mallory, jealousy doesn't suit you." Magnus says smirking. I turn my death glare to him, getting up I stomp to my room.
"Mallory!" I here Halfborn's voice, there was nothing but darkness around me.
"Gunderson!" I call, searching for him in the dark. Tripping and stumbling along, I finally find him. And another girl appears behind him and starts kissing him, passionately.
I try to draw my knifes by I can't move, only stare. Then I bolt up in my bed, sweating and crying. I shake my head, I won't go to my boyfriend. "I can handle my own problems," I say, to my empty room. "Don't need that idiot."
I try to lay back down, but all I can see when I close my eyes is them making out. Starting a fire I try to drowned myself to sleep by watching the flames dance across the room.
Giving up on that I take out my practice dummy and slice it to pieces until morning.
"You look terrible." Magnus says, as I walk to breakfast.
"Thanks." I spit sarcastically.
"Halfborn went to study with that girl before battle." TJ explains.
"I don't see how that relates to me!" I snap. Everyone looks down and we eat breakfast in silence.
It was free combat Tuesday, the battle was about to start and Halfborn hadn't shown his ugly face yet.
As the horn blares I take out my anger on the other einherji. Turning I'm met by Halfborn teamed up with that girl. Last straw, I go up to her and strike blow after blow.
She's good but I'm better and decapitate her. Halfborn breaks out laughing at me. "Jealously, doesn't suit you Keen."
"I wasn't jealous!" I declare.
"Right," he says, stabbing a large man who had come at him.
"She's a distant cousin," Halfborn says to me.
"What?" I block a thrown spear.
"The girl I've been with, distant cousin. She just got here, you've been comparing notes about our family." He elaborates.
"I don't care." Though a weight is lifted off that she's not a threat.
That night, I hear a knock at my door. It was the oaf, "yeah?" I ask, wiping my eyes, I hadn't been able to sleep again.
"You looked terrible today." He says waking into my room.
"I'm fine," I mutter. He ignores me, sitting on my bed and gestures for me to sit by him. Rolling my eyes I give in.
"I don't mind you coming over." He says, as I lean into him.
"I don't need you, like some child."
"Not like a child Mallory Keen, like some warrior." Kissing my hair I fall asleep soundly.
