Halfborn's POV:
The next few days past with me slowly regaining small memories. Like me studying in the library, or decapitating that one tall guy, and most of my life from when I was alive.
It seems all of the important memories refused to come back to me. I spent lots of time with Mallory but I could see how my presence hurt her.
Apparently we were dating, I really care for her, I just couldn't remember why.
At breakfast Mallory came down, she looked tired and her eyes were red from crying. I felt guilt from seeing her tired face but I didn't know why. Ugh! I was sick of not knowing.
She sat by me and a Valkyrie came and brought her a plate. "Morning idiots." She mutters.
We eat with light conversation, then we go to fight lindworms. Mallory is struggling to tighten her breastplate straps. TJ gives me a weird look, as if excepting me to do something. Then realization hits him and his tries to help Mal, she begrudgingly allows him to help.
The horn blares and the battle begins. Mallory and and TJ attack the beasts legs while Alex seemed as if he (Alex was male today) was going to ride it.
I helped with the legs, my battle skills were the only thing I was hundred percent sure about right now. Thank Gods of Asgard for muscle memory!
"Remember-" TJ stops in the middle of his sentence glancing at me. I see the red head take an angry slash at the beasts legs.
We continued to stay alive a for a while longer. Then the lindworm stepped on TJ, making a satisfying crunch. Alex was then thrown off, killing her as well.
I swung my axe, nearly hitting Mallory Keen.
"How many times do I have to tell you! Watch that thing!" She yelled before remembering I didn't remember any of those times.
"Just watch it." She said, avoiding my eyes and returning her attention back to the lindworm before it burned her to her death.
Frustration took over and I hacked the beast to pieces, then turned to Magnus. "I meant a lot to her didn't I?" I ask him. The blond healer nods, "more then you knew." He says, we then walk back to our separate rooms.
Late that night I gathered my courage and knocked on the Irish woman's door. I hear something smash on the other side, then it opened to a red eyed, Mallory.
"What do you want?" She asked.
"I don't know, I just feel bad about not remembering anything." I say honestly not really sure where I was going with this.
"That's nice, bye." She's about to slam the door but I quickly hold it.
"Let go and leave me alone! You insufferable, mutated rag doll!" She begins cursing in Irish.
Suddenly something pushes me from behind, into the cursing red head. More specifically, on her lips. Suddenly my memories came rushing back.
Mallory and I laughing together. Throwing plates. Bickering with love in our eyes. Her singing to me when I had a nightmare. Me sitting with her when she had them. Her leaning over me when I was dying. Me watching her fight sloppily when she's tired. Her red face when she was embarrassed. Everything came back!
I grabbed Mallory by the hips and swung her around in the air. A goofy smile on my face.
She pushes away from me, pain in her eyes. "I hate you Mallory Keen." I say to her.
I watch as pure joy shines in her green and orange eyes, a smile on her beautiful face. She pulls me in for another kiss, long and passionate.
When we finally pull up for air, "I hate you too, Halfborn Gunderson." She says back.
We kiss again, her legs around my waist. I walk us backwards into her room and onto her bed. We fall down and I kiss every part of her face.
After one of the best make outs of my afterlife. Mallory begins to slip into a peaceful slumber, me by her side, as I hope to stay.
