I was in a room. A very dark room. I don't know where I am. Automatically, I started running. My feet pounded on the cold floor as I ran forward. A loud cackling noise followed by a light made my flight or fight go nuts. Adrenaline rushed through me and I sprinted down a hallway. My breathing was heavy as I took a sharp left and into a dead end. I'm dead, I thought as the light became brighter and closer and the cackling noise was so loud it almost made me go insane. Then a figure stepped out of the light and a sharp pain ran down the side of my left leg. Like someone just gave me a deep cut.

"Dad?" I whispered as fear settled I my gut.

"Yes," he replied with a hint of anger in his voice.

Then he turned red and attacked me.

I woke up screaming and crying at the same time. Sunlight poured through the window in the living room. I was on the couch. A sigh of relief escaped my mouth as I saw Mom and Adam rush in to ask what was wrong. I started telling them about my nightmare. As I did I saw the look of horror on Adam's face. He was still bruised up pretty bad but the color wasn't that bad as yesterday. I finished telling them and mom hugged me tight. She told me it would be alright and it was just a nightmare. But that's the thing. I don't think it's a nightmare. I think it's real. Gently, I pushed her off me and stood up. When I did, Adam sucked in a breath and Mom gasped and put her hand over her mouth. I looked at both of them with a confused expression on my face. Adam stepped forward.

"Sawyer, how did you get that gash on your leg?" He asked in a small voice.

Instantly, I felt the pain and looked down. Sure enough, there was a deep gash that went down to my bone. I felt sick. Suddenly, I remembered about the pain I felt in my dream. I started looking through the couch to see if there was a knife of any kind in it. I didn't find anything. Strange. I took a step forward and my foot brushed up against something sticky. Adam bent down and picked up a knife with blood on it. I stumbled backwards and fell on the ground onto my backside.

"H-how did that knife get there?!" I exclaimed

Mom and Adam shrugged their shoulders. Tears stung the back of my eyes as I hugged my legs to my chest ignoring the fact that my left arm was now covered in blood. Slowly, Adam approached me and helped me stand up. Then Mom called 911 and said we should wait outside and that they're sending a helicopter to come get me. I protested that I don't need a helicopter and I don't need to go to the hospital. I'll be fine. Adam placed his hands on my shoulders and looked me in the eye.

"You are going to the hospital and I will make sure of it," Adam told me, "capiche?"

I nodded my head. His eyes said he was dead serious. I knew I couldn't fight him. Reluctantly, I had Adam carry me out and we sat in the yard. We waited. And waited. And waited. After waiting for three hours Mom, Adam and I headed towards the car. Then we heard a humming noise and the helicopter was over us. A stretcher and two paramedics came down and had me lay down. We went up and Adam and Mom followed.

As I was loaded into the helicopter, I thought about my nightmare. It was terrifying. I made eye contact with Adam and Mom. Their faces were sad. Then I felt a prick in my neck. My vision spun but I stayed conscious. But I wasn't responding to anything. I could see and hear just not speak. And I couldn't feel my arms or legs. Then mom and Adam's faces showed horror. Mom was yelling at the paramedics and Adam was praying. Suddenly, the sky went dark and wind started blowing. Rain poured down and lighting and thunder went off in the distance. Next thing I knew, we got struck and we were spiraling out of control near a river.........
