My feet pounded against the ground as I ran. I don't know why I wore all black, I'm sweating. I went into a restaurant, into the bathroom, and put on clothes I never wore, which was khaki shorts and a dark blue tee shirt. I also put my hair up in a ball cap. I stuffed those clothes into my backpack and went out. I began to run again. I have an hour until I reach the border of Minnesota.
An hour later I reached the border. I collapsed on the ground and brought out a water bottle. I opened it and drank the whole thing. Then I crossed the border. I couldn't believe it. I'm in Iowa. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I brought it out. It was a text.
From:Mom To:Michelle
Why did you leave?
My eyes grew wide and I told her I was going on a walk. Then I turned off the 'find my phone' and blocked her number. After that I placed it in my pocket and headed west towards the address Austin gave me. As I walked, the sun was high above me and more sweat formed on my forehead. Where is this place? I wondered as I passed a bunch of buildings in Davenport, Iowa. I wandered for a few hours then leaned up against a building. A hand was placed on my shoulder, I screamed, and looked to my right. Austin stood beside me.
"Hello," he said as he placed his hands on my shoulders and dragged me into the building.
The building was a parking garage. Why am I here? I thought. He led me to a four door white pickup truck. Fear settled in my gut as he shoved me in the back. He slammed the door closed and walked around and got in. Austin started the truck and drove off. I sat up, got buckled, and stared out the window. We drove for a few miles then went on the highway. I asked Austin where I'm going but he didn't answer. My mind began to wonder of the horrible things he could do to me. Out of no where, he turned around and stabbed me with a needle. Suddenly, everything went in slow motion. Then my vision spun and I blacked out.
