"ADAM!!!!!" I screamed. Adam looked over just as Rick Hunt punched Adam and watch them fall onto rocks.

Tears streamed down my face as the person who was helping Rick started choking me. My hands gripped his. Then he head butted me and let go. I staggered backwards and began to fall. I'm going to die, I told myself, I know I am. My eyes closed and I heard the wind rushing past me and my heart pound in my chest. I prepared for impact on rocks. But instead of hitting them, I felt someone catch me. Then that person sinking to their knees and crying. My eyes opened and I saw Adam. His face was bloody and he had a cut on his forehead. He smiled and hugged me. I was overwhelmed. I thought he died! Then I shoved him off me and stood up. I looked around and saw that I was at least twenty feet below where I fell of at. To my left I saw the waterfall and someone swimming to shore. Adam went over, dragged Rick out, brought him near me, yelled in anger and punched him in the face. Rick fell backwards then Adam stood over him yelling and repeatedly hit Rick until blood gushed out his head. I got sick to my stomach. Adam kept hitting him until I couldn't stand it anymore and yelled at him to stop. He did and looked at me. His eyes had a murderous look in them. Then Adam slowly stood up, looked at his hands which had blood on them, looked at Rick and sank to his knees. He was bent over so his head touched the rocks. His body was shaking. After a few minuets, I walked over and put my arms around Adam. He looked up and we made eye contact. Instead of a murderous look in them it was sadness.

"I....I killed a man," he whispered as he stared at his hands.

"Yes. Yes you did kill a man, Adam. Come on. Let's get back home and clean you up," I told him as nicely as possible without showing my new fear I have of Adam.

Note to self: never get on Adam's bad side.

Gently, I grabbed his arm and dragged him away from Rick. I scanned my soundings for a way out. Then I spotted a path. We went up it and walked away from the waterfall. Adam was muttering to himself. As we walked, I wondered what Adam experienced while he was missing for three days. He seems healthy. But something was off. I'm not sure what though. An hour later we reached the road and another hour later, we reached my house.

We went inside and Mom got Adam cleaned up. They were talking while I stared at the wall. Then it stopped. Curiously, I got up and headed towards the bathroom. My heart pounded in my chest as I stood near the doorway. I edged over to the corner and turned my head just enough that I could see in and them not see me. I almost gasped at what I saw. Mom and Adam were making out. I threw up in my mouth a little. Then I bolted for the stairs, ran up them two at a time, reached my room and slammed the door. I was gasping for air as I leaned up against the back of my door.

"What the heck?!" I exclaimed loudly as I bellyflopped onto my bed.

Then the door flew opened and I felt hands shaking me. I rolled over and stared at Mom and Adam. They both had worried looks on their faces.

"Sawyer are you okay?" Mom asked

I wanted to say, "no I'm not okay! Why were you kissing Adam?!" But I didn't. Instead I said, "yeah. I'm okay. Just a little shaken up about what Adam did to that jerk Rick."

Mom raised an eyebrow and stared at Adam. He looked at me, sighed, and said "I accidentally killed Rick, the man who was texting Sawyer, when I was angry. I didn't mean to. It's just....."

His voice trailed off and he looked at me with those big sad brown eyes. Without knowing it, I got up and hugged Adam. I asked Mom to leave and she did. Then I went over and closed the door. Adam and I sat on the bed awkwardly. I decided not to ask Adam why he was making out with Mom. I'll ask him that later. I smiled at him. This reminded me of last week when we were sitting in the dressing room. Wow, it's only bed a week since this all happened. Now we have fourteen days or so until Adam leaves. I placed my hands on his shoulders and looked him in the eye. I told him I would help him deal with he is feeling. Then he smiled and laughed. I joined. Suddenly, he started tickling me. I slapped his arms and soon both of us were on the floor laying on our backs. We calmed down then sat up. He had a look on his face like he was keeping something from me. Adam looked me in the eyes and took a deep breath.

"Sawyer, there's something I have to tell you," he told me then took another deep shaky breath,"I'm your-"

Suddenly, my heard started hurting and I went on my back and started screaming. Then I blacked out and didn't hear the rest of Adam's sentence.
