"GET AWAY FROM ME!!! YOU ARE CRAZY!!!" I screamed as I backed up against the slimy wall of the disgusting basement.

Austin punched my stomach causing me to double over in pain. I hoped and prayed that Adam is my real dad. I dislike this man very much. Though I look like him which is strange. Did mom.... I shuddered as I pushed that thought aside. I exhaled sharply, stood up, yelled, and attacked Austin. He laughed and didn't move as I punched him but ended up hurting myself more than him. After an hour I gave up, he grabbed my ear and dragged me to a chair. I sat down and he stood above me. I looked at him.

"Sawyer Austin Woods. Such a big name for such a little girl," he said evilly.

"I'm fifteen and I'm not a little girl!"

"Oh but you are. You don't even know that your real name is.... No I shouldn't tell you. I think Adam should so you can take your rage out on him. After all, he is your father. Oops. I said to much," Austin exclaimed.

I stared angrily at him. How could Adam be my dad? Ow. I winced as my head hurt from being slammed against the wall earlier. Tears stung my eyes but I fought them back. I'm not going to cry, I told myself as I looked at the ground. Austin rushed forward and forced me to look at him. Reluctantly I looked at him.

"Let me tell you a story," he started, "about fifteen years ago there was a little girl named Michelle Cathleen Young. Now Michelle had an interesting past. She was one of eight kids and blah blah blah. Her father, Adam Young, had a choice. Either let him give up his daughter to a bad guy and never see her again or him be killed. He chose to give his daughter up," Austin explained as he sat on a chair in front of me. He continued, "So now the bad guy has Michelle and he pretends to be nice until she is three years old. Then he leaves. Michelle is left with her mother and no father. Her mom changed her name to Sawyer Austin Woods. Fast forward a few years and we're here."

My brain processed the information. It can't be. I can't believe it. It's not true. I shook my head in disbelief. He's lying. I know he is. Adam couldn't be my dad. It's not possible. Silence fell between us. Suddenly, Austin shot up and slapped my face for no reason at all. I made no response. He cursed under his breath.

"I see you're not responding to my actions Sawyer. Well, let's see how well you respond when Adam is here in a day. Who will you choose? Me or him? Decide now," Austin said.

I sucked in a breath. Adam has only been with me for a week and I'm kidnapped already. Man, a lot can happen in a week. I shook my head and whispered

"You."

"What?" He asked

I looked at him and repeated it. A evil grin spread across his face. He whistled and another man walked in. This man had black hair and grey eyes. Austin gestured the man to walk near. He did and the man stood near me.

"Go get Adam and make sure he puts up a fight when you do," Austin instructed the man.

He nodded his head and left. Fear settled in my gut. Adam is going to die or we both are. I still couldn't make myself believe that Adam is my dad. Then, Austin forced me to my feet and started hurting me. After he was finished hurting me, I was laying in a heap on the floor trembling. Blood trickled out of my mouth and I could barely move. I wanted to die.

A few hours passed and it was midnight. The man was still getting Adam and I have no idea where I am. My stomach felt like it was going to eat me inside out. I was on the verge of tears. Then for some odd reason a lyric from the chorus of 'To the Sky' came into my head.

"Wide eyes will always brighten the blue," I sang softly.

Yeah right. How would that...... Suddenly, everything clicked into place. I closed my eyes and saw images of a young man with brown hair with mom. He was smiling and making weird funny faces. His brown eyes showed happiness. I guess I was a baby. Then he frowned and his eyes showed fear. He handed me to mom and I saw two men yelling and throwing punches. I blinked and saw the man, Austin, on the ground and Adam was in front of me and rocking me back and forth in his arms.

"I'm sorry, my beautiful girl. I'm so so sorry," he whispered as tears rolled down his face," I love you."

He hugged me and mom held me.

My eyes flew opened and my face was wet. I'm crying. Then, I cried harder. It's true. Adam is my dad now he going to die for real whenever he gets here. I need to think of a game plan but I'm too tired to think. Then I curled up into a ball and cried myself to sleep.
