After spending all morning making phone calls to our manager and other people, by noon I was exhausted. We all were. I sighed heavily as I plopped myself on the couch and closed my eyes. I wish dad was here and Daniel were here as well. I mean, what Daniel did was a few years ago! Why are they still holding a grudge? Then my eyes flew opened and I sat up. Will they let Daniel on if he says he won't do it anymore? After all, he did rescue me. I smiled as an idea came to mind. Everyone looked at me with a weird expression on their faces. I shot to my feet and without a word, I raced out of the house.
I ran down the driveway but slipped and fell with an ear-piercing scream. Nothing was broken, I was just muddy and had a bloody nose. I sat up and titled my head back and pinched it just as Mom, Jasper, Breanne and Gabriel came. Mom helped me up and I walked back to the house slowly. My eyes were watery but I didn't cry. I didn't want to. Breanne ran ahead of me and she held opened the front door. I went in,slipped my shoes off, and my legs gave out. Mom let go of me and I fell to the ground. But instead of getting up, I stayed on the ground. My vision went tunnel-y and everything went in slow motion. I managed to curl up into a ball and stare at people's feet. Then a face came into view. It wasn't Jasper's or moms or any of the gangs. I swear it was dad's face. He was smiling. Then he disappeared and I blacked out.
When I regained consciousness, I was in a soft bed. My bed. I looked around my room. Everything was the same. I removed my covers off of me and realized that I was in sport shorts and a tank top. At first I was confused on what happened but then I remembered. I slipped outside, fell, and blacked out. There was a loud crash from down stairs and I bolted out of my room, down the stairs, and into the kitchen. I saw mom picking up a large bowl that had blueberries in it. I smirked and helped her pick them up. She put the bowl down and gave me a hug.
"How long have I been out?" I questioned as I let go of her.
Mom sighed. "Most of the day. You must've hit your head pretty hard. Oh and we got Daniel back on the band."
I smiled and jumped up and down with excitement. But stopped when my head was hurting. Ow. I placed my hand on my head and winced. I leaned up against the counter and a few tears rolled down my cheeks. Mom made me take a pill for the pain. I did and it went away after a few minuets. I asked her how Daniel got back in the band and she told me that he mentioned saving your life and they let him back in. Another smile was on my face. Woohoo! Now all I have to do is find dad and we can preform. Mom must've read my facial expression when she said,
"Michelle you gotta realize that he's gone. You're father isn't coming back!"
I know she didn't mean to yell but that's what she did anyway. Her eyes were filled with anger and sadness. Her mouth was in a thin line. A chocked sob burst from my chest. No I'm not going to cry, I told myself. I bit my lip, glared at mom, and ran down to the basement. I flung open the door to the recording studio and went in. My hands automatically locked it. I leaned up against the door and slid down it until I was sitting down with my knees hugged to my chest. He has to be alive. I know it. I was on the verge of tears but I was more angry than sad. Why won't anyone believe me?! I thought angrily. Then I got to my feet and sauntered over to the desk with the computer and stuff. I searched through a drawer and found what I was looking for. It was a sharp pointy piece of metal. I gripped it in my hand and placed it against my left arm. I was about to cut when a noise stopped me. All of a sudden, I threw the piece of metal behind me.
"Ow," I heard a mans voice say.
I spun around and saw a tall figure standing in the shadows. He stepped into the light and I slapped my hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming. It was him! His eyes were watery. I noticed dad had his hand gripped his right shoulder. Did I hit him? I got to my feet and walked over. Yep. I hit him. I apologized as I yanked it out of his shoulder. Tears rolled down dad's face. His wound was small but blood gushed out. I told him to wait there while I run upstairs. I did,got the first aid kit, and went back down stairs. When I walked in Dad was gone. But I saw him! I must be going crazy. I know I saw him. I dropped the first aid kit and ran back upstairs. I need to find mom. I searched the house until I found her. She was talking on the phone. I kept tapping her arm the whole time she was talking. Mom eventually hung up the phone and glared at me.
"I saw dad! He was in the recording studio!" I exclaimed
Mom shook her head and placed her hands on my shoulders. She looked me in the eye. "You didn't see him. You're hallucinating. I think you should go back to bed."
I blinked and backed away from her. "But-"
"Upstairs. Now!" She said as she shoved me towards the stairs.
Reluctantly, I went up and wondered how mom would act if dad was here. I muttered to myself as I walked down the hallway. Slowly, I opened my door and closed it. I noticed there was a note on my bed. I got into bed and read it. While I read it, I was making a plan. Once I was finished, I got out of bed, turned the light off, and went back into bed. I smiled to myself as I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
