I woke up with a giant bug on my face. A shrill scream escaped my mouth as I flung it off me and scared a flock of birds. I. Hate. Bugs. Then I started freaking out as I got my things together. I kept telling myself that I would be fine. Part of me wanted to believe it but I knew I wasn't going to be fine. I still haven't found Adam yet. As I shouldered my backpack, I noticed that my necklace fell off last night. I searched but couldn't find it. I checked my pockets and found it. A sigh of relief escaped my mouth as I put it on and walked out. The sun shone in the west, and the bridge wasn't flooded. My feet led me across the bridge and I made my way through overgrown bushes.

Three hours later I reached the old abandoned factory, it took me three hours since I was stuck in a mud hole and had to get out. The factory was big as two football fields. Depending on how fast I walk it would take a few minuets to walk across. I decided to check my phone for the time. It blinked 9:35pm. What?! My brain screamed. How'd it get so late! Then I remembered. I woke up at six PM. Sighing, I started walking. The inside of the factory was dusty and gross. Old cardboard boxes were everywhere and it smelled awful. Like something died. And the floor was wet. I shuddered and forced myself to keep walking.

As I was halfway across, I was getting tired even though I've been up since six. I found a platform, collapsed onto a pile of card bored boxes, and fell asleep.

The next day

My eyes opened to sun shining in my face. I yawned and stretched. Then I stood up. My hand went to my pocket and I brought it out. The screen blinked 9:00am. Cool. Then I got a text from the blocked number.

From:BlockedNumber To:Sawyer

Hope you made your way to the waterfall. Adam is expecting you. By the way, my name is Rick Hunt.

I groaned and shot to my feet. At least I know who the guy is. I placed my phone back in my pocket, got down from the platform, and sprinted across the rest of the abandoned factory. When I reached the woods I was out of breath, sweating and my stomach sounded like it was going to eat me inside out. Panting, I leaned up against a tree and drank from my water bottle. Then I had dried fruit snacks. After that I made my way through the woods.

An hour later I reached the waterfall and searched for Adam. I didn't see him. Suddenly, a pair of strong arms grabbed me from behind and dragged me to the edge near the waterfall where it dropped twenty feet below. The man who held me jerked my head to the right and down a little bit. I gasped at what I saw. I saw Adam and the guy, Rick fighting near the waterfall and on a flat rock above more rocks which outlined and formed a small river which led into a pond a few feet away. Dread washed over me. Here I was going to rescue Adam and I can't. I'm stuck and I'm going to watch Adam die.
