This is the first chapter to my first sorta fanfiction. I apologize that it's crappy because I usually write entirely fake stories straight from my head. So this is different and I like it so I hope you will too.

(Lyrica's P.O.V.)

"Lyrica, it's time to get up." I hear a familiar voice calling, pulling me from my sleep. I can't help my grin as I pry my eyes open.

"Good morning." I mumble, finding Derek fully dressed and sitting by my legs on the bed.

He leans down and connects our lips before pulling back to chuckle at me.

"You gotta get up before you're late for work." He says. "It's your first day. Don't want to make the wrong impression."

I groan and sit up, running a hand through my long, curly, and severely knotted hair. Derek chuckles once more before going back downstairs. I grab my phone to check the time as I walk into the bathroom. It's 6 in the morning so I have an hour before I need to be at the school for work. I quickly hit play on a random playlist on Spotify and strip before stepping into the shower. I take around 20 minutes to clean myself and exit the shower, wrapping a towel around my body and grabbing another for my hair.

I walk into the bedroom and go to the closet while drying my hair, looking for a presentable outfit to wear. I decide on a long sleeved top covered in flowers with a knee length pencil skirt. I quickly dress and apply minimal makeup. I slip on a pair of white heels to match my outfit. The only jewelry I wear is my wedding ring and a necklace Derek got me on our first date. I grab my bag and stick my phone inside it, the other necessities already packed in. I walk down the polished wood stairs and find Derek in the kitchen, eating an apple as he plays on his phone. I walk into the kitchen and grab an apple from the bowl beside him.

"You ready to go?" He questions, pocketing his phone and tossing the apple core into the trash.

"Yup. I got all my stuff. Now I just need to go get to work." I chuckle and wrap my arms around his neck. His hands gently hold my hips.

"Okay well, have a good day and I'll see you when you get home."

I lean up and kiss him. "I will. I love you."

"I love you too."

I step away before quickly leaning up and pressing my lips to his cheek. He groans in playful annoyance and I smirk, knowing that he'll have a red stain for a while. I grab my purse from the counter next to us, and walk towards the front door, grabbing my keys as I go.

With one final goodbye, I exit the house and walk towards my black 1967 Chevy Impala. I start the engine, tossing my purse into the passenger seat. I fasten my seat belt and drive away towards Beacon Hills High School.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a rather quick drive and I'm at the school in 15 minutes. I park my car in the teacher's lot and grab my purse, wanting to get inside before the chilly air sets into my skin.

I lock the car doors and venture into the school, ignoring the confused stares from all the students. I shake my head with a small smile and walk through the halls until I reach my locked classroom. I take the key from my purse and unlock the door, flicking on the lights as I enter.

I go over to my desk, opening the cabinet beside it and carefully hanging my purse on the hook. I take my phone out and close the cabinet door. I walk a few steps and place my phone on my desk before pulling out my class lessons and attendance sheets. I sit down in my desk chair and check the time on my phone. Classes start in about 5 minutes. I lock my phone and set it back down. I open my attendance lists and flip to the first period. The bell rings, signalling the start of classes. I grab my phone to text Derek that I made it to work safely. I put my phone back down when students start filing in. I smile and stand, walking to the front of the class. I stand there for another minute or so before the bell rings, telling everyone that students should be in their classes. A few stragglers come running in, muttering apologies. I just chuckle and let them sit down. When the class is full, I walk over to close the door before walking back over to the front of the class.
