Hello! Second chapter is updated. Time for the third to be posted! I'm honestly obsessed with it and I have about 10+ more chapters written out. So enjoy this one and I'll try to update every day this week!

-Recap-

Around an hour later, we have given Laura a proper burial using wolfs bane. I check the time and find that Lacrosse practice is almost over.

"Derek, I need you to calmly listen to me and not bite my head off." I turn to him.

(Lyrica's P.O.V.)

"Okay?" He says. "You're not pregnant, are you? I love you and I will always love you and any and all kids we have in the future. But we aren't ready for kids just yet."

"No, I'm not pregnant." I say, chuckling. "But I need your help with one of my students."

"What happened?" He asks, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me closer to him.

I wrap my arms around his neck, playing with his hair. "Today he told me that his father abuses him."

"Who would do that to a child?" Derek growls.

"That's what I said. We decided that we're gonna turn his father in, to the sheriff. But he was scared that he would be forced into foster care. So I may or may not have told him that we could take him in." I respond, my cheeks flushing at the end.

"You're so cute." He chuckles, kissing my forehead. "Do you want me to come with you?"

"Yeah. Lacrosse practice should be over in a few minutes. He'll be waiting for us."

"Okay, baby. Just let me go get my keys. I'll be right back." He kisses my forehead again before walking into the house.

I smile at Derek's retreating figure and walk over to his car to wait for him. He comes out not even a minute later, keys in hand.

"What?" He questions, starting the car and pulling out onto the road.

"Nothing." I grin. "You'll just be an amazing dad one day."

He blushes and reaches over, taking a hold of my hand and entwining our fingers. I smile at his need to always hold my hand. The rest of the car ride is full of a comfortable silence. When we reach the school, Derek pulls into a parking spot and kills the engine.

"So where is this kid?" He asks as we get out of the car.

"I told him to wait on the lacrosse field so he should be there. And can you do me a favor?"

"Of course. Anything for you."

"Be nice." I chuckle. "He's a shy and jumpy kid. And in case you haven't noticed, you tend to easily scare people."

"Fine." He jokingly sighs. "I'll try."

I kiss him on the cheek. "Thank you."

We walk onto the field and head towards the player's bleachers. We see Isaac sitting alone on the bench, nobody else in sight.

"Hey Isaac." I say when we reach him. He looks up at me with a hint of fear in his eyes.

"I'm scared." He mutters.

I let go of Derek's hand and crouch in front of Isaac. "It's okay. I can't expect you not to be scared. But you're strong enough to do this."

"Okay." He whispers. I smile and stand up, pulling him to his feet too. He finally seems to notice Derek beside us and takes a small step behind me.

"It's okay Isaac." I smile. "This is my husband, Derek."

"That's him?" He asks, obviously surprised.
