Hello everybody! I know it's been a long time since I updated, but school started about a month ago and all of my free time is either spent on band or sleeping because I'm so exhausted. However, I have some extra time today and I figured that I'd update as much as possible. I'll try my hardest to update on Friday, but we're marching second show and winter uniforms for the first time, so I might be too tired. Anyway, I'm back and here's the new update!

-Recap-

"You just sprained your ankle. You can still play lacrosse." Derek replies.

"Oh thank God." Isaac sighs.

(Lyrica's P.O.V.)

There's a knock on the door before Melissa McCall walks in, an ankle brace and a bottle of pills in her hands.

"Hey guys." She says, closing the door behind her. "This brace should be a perfect fit. You won't need crutches or anything, but make sure you don't put too much pressure on the ankle."

"Will I be able to go to school tomorrow?" Isaac asks hopefully.

"As long as you want to. If you don't feel up to it, stay home and keep your ankle iced." She kindly replies.

"How long should it be until he can play Lacrosse again?" I ask.

"Not long. The brace needs worn for at least four weeks. We'll have to see from there."

"Okay, thank you." I reply, watching her show Isaac how to put on the brace and take it off.

"It's no problem, really. I'm actually glad that I got to help you guys." She replies, standing up and lowering Isaac's leg.

"How so?" I ask.

"Well, no offense, but most of the people here are scared of your husband."

"What? Why?" I ask, confused.

"I honestly have no clue. But if they were too focused on their fear of Mr. Hale, they could have given Isaac the wrong diagnosis, or even injured him further."

"Well thank you for being honest with us." Derek says. "And thank you for helping us on such short notice. Scott told us that you were on break."

"Oh, It's no big deal." She says.

"Well, as much as I hate to say it, we should probably get going." I say as nicely as possible. "I'm sure Isaac's more than ready to just sleep. I know I am."

"Of course. I'll walk you out." She says.

She leads us out of the hospital, Isaac's arm around Derek's shoulders to help him walk. We get in the car, Isaac dozing off in the back as we begin the journey home.

"How long do you think you'll be out?" I ask Derek, keeping my voice low so I don't wake Isaac.

"Not long at all. I'm gonna take you guys home, go talk to Scott, and then I'm coming right back. Why?" He replies, his voice also low.

"No reason. It's just hard to sleep without you in the bed." I say.

"Well I'll be back as soon as possible, I promise." He says.

"Are we almost home?" Isaac asks, drowsy from his meds and lack of sleep.

"Almost, Kiddo." Derek chuckles. "Just a few more minutes."

"Ya know, you guys are the best parents ever." Isaac slurs, making me spin around to face him.

"What?" I ask.

"You heard me. You guys are awesome. I mean, even before my brother and mom died, my parents sucked." He says. "My parents always focused more on Camden. They hated when I messed up and my dad always got too eager with the punishments. My mom and Camden never stopped him, either. I'll admit, when you guys agreed to adopt me, I was terrified of Derek. I thought he was gonna be worse than my dad. But you guys are the best parents I could have asked for, even though I don't say it. And that I don't call Derek, Dad. One day I will, but I don't want him to feel old."
