-Recap-
Derek releases her, dropping her to the ground. He wraps his arm around Lyrica's waist, pulling her a few steps from the gasping woman on the ground.
"That's right." She laughs, looking up at the 4 people. "You need me. All of you."
(Lyrica's P.O.V.)
After a little bit more bickering, we all leave to go to the hospital. I go with Derek and Jennifer so that I can have more time to regain my strength, and the teens take the Impala. Jennifer tried to threaten her way into sitting in the passenger seat, but Derek and I both growled at her and she backed down.
"You should know I'm not doing this because I have to." Jennifer says, popping her head up between the seats of the SUV we're driving. "I want to. I could still run. And you wouldn't have an easy time stopping me. But I don't want your sister to die. Or your kid little brother."
"You shut your fucking mouth." I seethe, turning around to bare my teeth at her. "If you touch a single hair on his head, or Stiles', I will rip your throat out. With my teeth."
She moves to reply, but her eyes drift down to where Derek takes a hold of my hand. I relax, turning to face the front again.
"I'm only doing what I had to do." Jennifer continues, eyes not moving.
"Shut up." Derek's voice is calm, but he's anything but.
"You need to hear the whole story, Derek. You need to know just how connected we really are."
"Stop talking." I groan.
She shuts her mouth and I glance in the rear view mirror, seeing Scott and Stiles in the Impala, right behind us. When we pull up to the hospital, we park near the entrance and dive out of the car, the teens and Jennifer right behind us.
"What's that?" Scott asks, looking at Stiles.
"What? You got claws, I got a bat."
I roll my eyes at the teenagers and we run inside, desperate to get out of the rain. Derek has a tight grip on Jennifer's bicep to keep her from running off.
"Scott! Scott!" Melissa calls, running up behind us as we turn a corner. "What are you doing here? The hospital's evacuating."
"We're here for Cora." Scott tells his mother.
"What, all of you? Why does Stiles have my bat?"
"Mom, just trust me on this. You need to get out of here. Right now."
"The building is supposed to be clear in 30 minutes." Melissa nods. "We've got two ambulances that are coming back. One's 10 minutes out, the other's 20. Cora needs to be on one of those. They'll be picking up in the basement garage."
"Got it."
"Thank you." I say to the woman before we run off, heading for the elevator.
"You don't have to keep me on a leash, Derek." Jennifer complains once we're in the elevator. "I'm going to help." She turns to her left where Scott is stood, ready to strike. She turns to her right, where Stiles is stood with his bat, prepared to swing.
Derek watches the floor number intently, and when the doors open, he leads us out. We look up in confusion when the lights flicker, but continue on our way. Derek stops when we reach a room, and my heart skips a beat at the sight of black blood on the ground along with Hunter's butterfly book. I clutch Derek's hand, terrified for Hunter's safety.
"Derek. Lyrica." Scott says, looking down at the ground. Droplets of black blood trail out of the room, leading through the closed double doors in front of us.
There's the sound of muffled grunting before the doors slam open, Peter sliding across the floor and stopping at our feet.
"We got a problem." He groans, looking up at us. He leans up, looking through the doors. "Big problem."
We all look up as a howl sounds through the air, only to see Voltron Wolf. Unconscious Cora at his feet along with a terrified and sobbing Hunter. Derek and I growl, shifting and charging the beast. Derek slams into its stomach, pushing it back a few feet. It elbows him in the back and while Derek regains his footing, I surge forward and drag my claws against its chest. It howls in pain and grabs my wrist, crushing the bone. I ignore the pain, twisting my hand around to grab the alpha's arm and use the moment of weakness to land a solid kick in its chest, freeing myself.
Derek and Scott take on the beast while I quickly set my wrist for it to heal. Derek gets thrown harshly into the wall and Voltron Wolf grabs Scott by the throat, pinning him up against a door.
"Ethan, Aiden, stop!" Scott groans while Stiles and Peter rush to Hunter and Cora. "You don't know what you're doing."
"All we want is her!" They growl in reply. We all turn at the sound of elevator doors closing, only to see Jennifer escaping. The twins drop Scott and run after her.
We turn and run after Stiles and Peter, desperate to protect Cora and Hunter.
"Don't stop, don't stop!" Derek calls as we run through an operating room. Peter runs through with Cora and Hunter, but Stiles falls behind, standing beside the doors.
"Stiles!" I shout, and Voltron Wolf comes through the doors.
Stiles smashes the bat over its head, only for it to burst into splinters, doing nothing to the twins. He looks down at it incredulously before rushing back to us. Derek, Scott, and I prepare to fight again. Scott looks up at the lights before jumping up, ripping them down and slamming them into the twins.
It's enough distraction and we run after the others. Peter stops and lays Cora down on a table, and Derek, Scott, and I rush to lock the doors.
"Where's the big guy?" Peter asks.
"He's close." I pant.
"What about Miss. Blake?" Stiles questions, trying to comfort a sobbing Hunter.
Scott shakes his head.
"What do you mean, what does that mean? Like, she's gone? Scott, are you kidding me?" Stiles yells the end.
"Quiet!" I shush my brother, not wanting the twins to find us.
"Me be quiet? Me, huh? Are you telling me what to do now?" Stiles snaps at me, getting in my face. "When your husband's psychotic, mass murdering girlfriend- the second one he's dated, by the way, has got our dad somewhere, tied up, waiting to be ritually sacrificed?"
"Stiles, they're still out there." Scott tries to calm his friend.
"And-And they want her, right? Which means now we don't have her either! So my dad and Cora are both dead!"
"Not yet." I silence Stiles. I turn to Peter, looking at Cora over his shoulder. "Is she really dying?"
"She's definitely not getting any better." Peter's voice is grim.
"There has to be something we can do." Scott pipes up. "We have to help her."
"You can't." Jennifer says, shoving the door open to our right. "Only I can. I can save her, and I can tell you where Sheriff Stilinski is. But there is a pack of alphas in this hospital who want me dead. So I'll help you... But only when I'm out of here and safe. Only then."
Edit: May 22, 2020. I'll never get over how big of a bitch Jennifer is.
