So, to start this out, I did originally post chapter 25 a couple weeks ago. However, it seems that there was a bit of a glitch or something messed up when I posted it, so I had to delete the chapter and post it again. Some of you may have already read this part, so I apologize to those of you who have, because it isn't really an update if you've already read it. But for everyone who hasn't read this yet, I'm sorry the update took so long and I promise that I'm not just abandoning the story. I'll try to make sure this doesn't happen again.
-Recap-
"We should be getting to sleep." I say with a smile.
"Yeah. Goodnight Mom. Goodnight Dad." He says, walking up the stairs.
-Time Skip-
(Lyrica's P.O.V.)
"Hey, Mom?" Isaac asks as we walk through the hospital. A couple weeks ago, Isaac got the all clear for his brace to be removed, and now we're going in for a checkup to make sure everything has fully healed.
"Yeah, Kiddo?" I ask.
"What's it like being a werewolf?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well, is it all really so bad that you're constantly running from hunters? Like, you never actually get any time to enjoy yourself?" He asks, obviously having thought this conversation through.
"I mean, you don't have to worry about anything as long as you control yourself and don't do anything stupid." I shrug. "Other than that and hunters, it's pretty good. It's fun teasing you and it's pretty handy to have super hearing when you're trying to figure out if someone is lying or not. Then there's the speed and sight. It's amazing when you're chasing something or just running and can see everything around you. Then, the super senses are kick ass."
"What about the emotions? I heard Dad tell Scott something about heightened emotions."
"Yeah. Your emotions are heightened. Emotions are all different with everyone. Personally, heightened emotions were agony. I felt like I was literally dying when Hunter died. Then there's general sadness. Things that would normally just make you upset, make you shed a few tears. I know that Derek and I both struggled with anger. There's just a lot that differs from person to person. Why do you want to know all of this?"
"Just curious." He says and I hear his heart skip a beat.
"Liar." I snicker as we reach the room we need to be in. "You're telling the truth when we're done here."
"Fine." He pouts.
The appointment goes by quickly, and as we're walking out of the hospital, a deafening scream sounds from inside the building before echoing around town. I groan and cover my ears until it's quiet enough.
"What the hell was that?" Isaac gasps as we walk to the Impala.
"By the sounds of it, Lydia Martin." I sigh.
"And we're not gonna do anything about it?"
"Not unless Scott or Stiles ask for help."
"Okay. Can you drop me off at the cemetery?" He asks. "I have to dig Kate Argent's grave."
"God, I still hate that you got that job." I say but drive towards the cemetery anyway. "I mean, it's so empty and you're always alone and you're using this heavy machinery and you're always working night shifts."
"Mom, I'm fine. I have my phone and I can always see what's happening." He laughs.
"Still." I mutter, pulling to a park in the gloomy parking lot.
"Thank you." He laughs, getting out of the car.
"I'll be here at 11:30. If you're not here, I'm hunting you down." I say and he laughs again.
"Don't worry. Nothing is gonna happen. I love you."
"I love you too. Be careful." I reply, watching him walk into a building to clock in, before driving away.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I sigh as I pull into the driveway. I grab my stuff and walk into the house. I go inside and set my stuff on the counter before going to Derek's study. I open the door quietly and walk up to Derek's desk, sitting on the edge.
"Whatcha doin'?" I ask.
"Thinking and trying to figure something out." He replies, looking up at me.
"What're you trying to figure out? Maybe talking about it will help."
"For starters, there's an omega running around." He sighs. "And by the sounds of it, it's looking for us."
"You're not gonna let it join the pack, are you?" I ask, worried. "I don't want that around Isaac."
"God, no. I'm actually gonna go out and get that dealt within the next couple of days." He exclaims. "But that brings me to another topic."
"Which is?" I ask, reaching up and running my fingers through his hair.
"Expanding the pack. I was thinking, and we need to build up our strength and endurance. Now that I'm alpha, there's gonna be wolves from all over the place coming to try to take the power from me. I want to start turning people. Of their own free will, of course."
"Do you have anyone in mind?"
"Yeah." He says and I hear his heart rate accelerate.
"Your heart started beating faster. Who is it, Der?"
"Isaac." He says quickly. "And before you freak out, he was the one who brought it up. He asked me about it the other day. I told him that I would do it, as long as he talked to you about it."
"As much as I hate to say it, it's probably the best bet if he does turn. He needs to know how to defend himself." I sigh.
"You're sure you're okay with it?" He asks.
"Yes. As long as he knows the risks. He'll have us to help him."
"When are you picking him up from work?"
"11:30 on the dot." I reply.
"Great. I'm gonna go out and see if I can't find the omega. I'll be back by 11." He says, standing.
"Okay. Be safe." I kiss him and he leaves.

(Isaac's P.O.V.)
I sigh while I dig Kate Argent's grave, music blaring through my earbuds to fill the otherwise deafening silence. I look in the mirror and touch my bruised eye, wincing at the sharp pain. During lacrosse practice, I got slammed directly in the face. It was funny in the long run, because Mom freaked out. I look around at the tombstones, feeling like I'm being watched. I narrow my eyes and look around, hearing footsteps running about. I turn the excavator around to look at the rest of the cemetery.
"What the hell?" I ask myself when the light shines on a tombstone, revealing a clawed hand.
I look to the side for a minute but look back when I hear the footsteps again. I jump up and try to climb out of the machine at the sight of a dark figure barreling towards me, but it's too late and the machine falls on its side. I land in the grave I was digging, bashing my shoulder on the ground. The excavator falls over the hole, the glass windshield shattering and falling into the hole with me. I quickly move back into the dark side of the grave, hearing growling and snarling above me. I shakily pull myself up to see what's up there, only to see something similar to a werewolf tearing into a grave with its bare hands. I fall back into the grave and listen as there's suddenly a high pitched whimper followed by a deafening snarl. I move to hide in the corner of the hole as the excavator is lifted off the hole. There's footsteps walking around the hole I'm in, and I look up when they stop.
"Need a hand?" He asks and I fall into a sitting position.
"Dad?"
Edit: May 13, 2020. I can't wait to finish editing this. I got a new cover made and I love it so much.
