Okay, here's the new chapter. Also, I will have a YouTube channel up and running soon. My first video will simply be me showing how I edit and update and write my chapters. If you would like to see that in a chapter instead of a song, let me know. Anyway, here's the latest chapter of the Hale life. Enjoy!

-Recap-

"I can stay with her, Derek." Isaac says. "I'll make sure she rests and doesn't hurt herself."

"I'll be fine, Derek." She says, smiling softly.

(Derek's P.O.V.)

"Fine." I huff. "Don't let anyone in the house and don't leave the house. I'll be back in about an hour."

"Thank you. I love you." Lyrica says.

"Love you too." I chuckle. I lean forward and kiss her, making Isaac squeal in disgust and roll off the bed. Lyrica pulls away, laughing at Isaac. After a couple minutes, she manages to stop laughing. "Do you need anything else?" I ask her, chuckling.

"No, I think I'm good." She replies.

"Okay. Isaac, do you need anything?" I say.

"W-What?" He stutters.

"Do you need anything from the store?" I ask again.

"I uhm, I-" He says.

"What's wrong?" Lyrica asks him. "You can ask us for anything."

"Well my dad never let me get anything. So I just didn't expect anything."

"We aren't your dad, Isaac. We will never be your dad." I say.

"I know. I guess old habits just die hard." He mumbles.

"How about this?" Lyrica says. "We can stay here and find something to watch while Derek goes out and gets a new phone for you. If we think of anything we need, I can text him."

"I think that sounds like a good idea." I say. "But I should get going. Text me if you need anything. Love you."

"I love you too." She says. I tell Isaac goodbye, and I'm out the door in minutes.

(Lyrica's P.O.V.)

Derek just left the house, obviously reluctantly. Isaac and I are sitting in my room, the silence deafening. "What do you want to watch?" I ask him, picking up the remote for the T.V.

"What do you mean?" He asks from his spot on the floor.

"What do you want to watch?" I repeat. "We can watch a movie, a show, scary, drama, romance, whatever you want to watch."

"I don't really know. I haven't watched any T.V. since my mom died." He says shyly.

"Well let's start with a movie then." I say, pulling up Netflix. "What genre?"

"Uh, what are all the options?" He asks, trying to see the T.V. around the bed frame.

"Isaac, you can come sit up here." I say with a chuckle. "I don't bite."

"Are you sure?" He asks.

"Of course. Come on up. Get comfortable." I say, patting the bed beside me with my good hand.

"Okay." He climbs onto the bed and lays back against the pillows. "Can we watch a romance movie?"

"Really?" I ask, surprised.

"I mean, if you don't want to-"

"No, I'm perfectly okay with it." I cut him off. "I just didn't expect a teenage boy to want to watch a romance movie."

"Well I think we already know that I'm not a normal teenage boy." He chuckles.

"True." I laugh. "How about we watch Geek Charming?"

"Sounds good to me." He replies. I chuckle and press play.

-30 minutes later-

Over the past half hour, Isaac subconsciously moved closer to me. I see his eyes drooping and him struggling to stay awake. I chuckle and wrap my good arm around his shoulders. Without hesitation, he lays his head on my good shoulder and closes his eyes. Minutes later, his breathing evens out and I know he's fast asleep. I try to focus on the movie but I find my eyelids drooping. After a while, I just give up and let sleep consume my body.

"Lyrica. Lyrica, Honey, wake up."

I slowly open my eyes and see Derek looking down at me and Isaac with a smile on his face. "Hey." I say tiredly. "When did you get back?"

"About ten minutes ago. I just set up Isaac's new phone. I heard the T.V. playing and came up here." He says with a chuckle.

"Well I guess we fell asleep." I say. "Should we wake him up?"

"Probably. He can mess with his phone while I head out for a bit." Derek replies.

"You gonna go look for the alpha again?" I ask with a small yawn.

"Yeah. I think I'm getting closer. I won't be gone long."

"Okay. What time is it?" I reply, trying to sit up. Apparently I move too much, because Isaac wakes up with a loud yawn.

"Oh, hey Derek. When did you get back?" He asks.

"I got back about 15 minutes ago. Your phone is activated and on the counter downstairs." He replies.

"Holy shit, thanks!" Isaac shouts, jumping off the bed and tearing down the stairs.

Derek laughs at him but I find myself too tired to laugh. Derek quickly notices and gives me a concerned look. "Are you okay?" He asks.

"Yeah, I think." I reply, furrowing my eyebrows. "I just feel really exhausted and drained."

"Well you do look really pale still." He says, reaching a hand up to my forehead. His hand feels surprisingly cool against my burning face. "Holt shit. You're burning up."

"I don't feel very good." I mumble, closing my eyes. Derek's hand moves down to my cheek and I sigh, leaning into his hand.

"Maybe I should stay here with you instead of looking for the alpha." Derek says.

"No. Go look for him. I'll be right here when you get back." I say tiredly.

"Are you sure?" He asks hesitantly. "I really don't think that I should leave you right now."

"Yeah, I'm sure. You'll be gone for like, half an hour. I can work or sleep."

"Fine." He sighs. "Half an hour. Then I'm coming home and staying with you for the rest of the night"

"Sounds good to me." I mumble. "I can just start filling out Isaac's new emergency contact forms. He does need them back as soon as possible."

"No, you go to sleep. I'll fill them out when I get back. You don't need to worry about work." He protests.

"Will you at least stay with me until I fall asleep?" I pout, looking at him with my puppy dog eyes.

"Of course. You don't even have to ask." He says before climbing into bed with me. I instantly curl up into his side, savoring the chill of his leather jacket. He wraps his arms around me and holds me close to him, his hand resting on my mark and taking my pain. I sigh in content and lay my head on his chest, instantly feeling sleepy.

"You feel good." I mumble. "Nice and cold."

"Go to sleep, Honey." Derek says, running his hand up and down my arm.

"Okay." I whisper before falling into a deep sleep.

Edit: May 7, 2020. The story sucked really bad the first couple chapters, but it's already getting better. Weird.
