Sometimes you need to dance when no one is looking

Nash did eventually call Nate and explained to him what happened with the bakery idea. Nate agreed with our decision and also offered to help us, as did Pat. It relieved me.

I didn't feel comfortable taking a chance with someone I didn't know. I know Kate had her heart in the right place, but something felt off. Opening a business is always a gamble.

With no one home, Nash and I took a little break and danced around in the living room. We were getting so into it we didn't hear people come in. "You two look like you're seizing out. Is there a reason you're looking like someone who just got off crack?" Nixon asked us.

"Shut up, we're having fun," Nash ordered him as he flipped me, and I landed right onto my wrist.

"Man down or should I say woman down. How about monkey down?" Nixon asked Kat as she rolled her eyes at him, then smacking him afterward.

I grabbed my wrist in pain and let out a yelp, "Shit," Nash grumbled as he helped me up while I held my wrist.

"Good going Tarzan, she should look adorable in a cast on your wedding day," Nixon grumbled.

"Will you stop making snarky remarks and help me?" Nash snapped at him.

"What fun would that be?" Nixon shrugged.

Kat hauled off and smacked him again.

"Fine, come on, Jane, let's go see if my twit of a brother broke your damn wrist," he mumbled as he and Nash helped me to the car with Kat following behind us.

They took me back and x-rayed my wrist. Afterward, I had to wait for the doctor to look at the x-ray.

"So, should you call ma and Dad, or should I?" Nixon asked Nash.

"Why don't we wait until the doctor returns?" Nash countered.

I sat there, not caring since the pain meds kicked in and I was feeling no pain. The doctor walked in and looked at the x-ray. "From the looks of it, she has two small fractures. It's a clean break so, a cast should work," the doctor recommended.

"Great," Nash sighed.

"She needs to return in a few days for her cast. We have to wait for the swelling to go down. So, care to explain how she could break her wrist in two different places," the doctor asked them.

"Well, genius here decided that he wanted to spice things up in the bedroom if you know what I mean?" Nixon said to the doctor.

"Nix!" Nash exclaimed.

"Hey, when you do the horizontal mambo, you need to leave the ceiling fan out of it," he retorted.

Nash shot him a glare, then turned to the doctor. "We were dancing in the living room. I flipped her, and she landed on her wrist," he explained to the doctor how I got hurt.

"Oh sure, he flipped her all right. He flipped her here and there if you get what I mean," Nixon smirked. Nash was getting pissed by the minute.

"Anyway, make sure she takes it easy and takes her meds," the doctor ordered.

"Yeah, sure doc, because we love listening to Elmer Fudd over here," Nixon thumbed at me.

The doctor gave him a strange look then walked away. They helped me up. "Was that necessary?" Nash asked him.

"No, but it was hella funny. The dude needs to lighten up," Nixon chuckled.

"Nix, he's a doctor. It's his job to be serious."

"And I'm the freaking pope. Although, the way I'm going, I will become the next pope," Nixon smirked.

"How's they even possible? You need theology courses even to be a minister. Last time I checked, you didn't take any," Nash informed him.
