The grand opening of the bakery was in full swing, with everyone helping. Nash called the doctor and made an appointment for us, which was in six weeks.
Things were hectic between the craziness of the bakery and Nixon, along with Kat returning from their honeymoon. If I wasn't tired, I was sleeping. Did I mention a few other things popped up along the way with the pregnancy?
I also was snippy, crazy, then Zen-like, food was delicious, and I found humor in things I never thought was possible. You would think I was carrying the brothers all at once. A Gray baby came with a lot more than I expected.
Before my appointment, guess who else showed up pregnant? Yep, Kat found out she was expecting after she took a test. The four of us girls being pregnant were crazy. Macey was due in November, while Marcy was due in December. They both were having twins. It makes sense since both are twins, along with being married to twin brothers.
Our appointment finally arrived, and we sat in the doctor's office. They called us back, and we went into a room. Nash helped me onto the table, and we waited.
A few minutes later, the doctor came in and did his examination. It turns out I was eight weeks along. We figured out it must have happened the first night of our honeymoon. When Nash said he wanted kids, he didn't waste any time. Like they say they shoot, they score.
"Okay, let's see what's going on," the doctor said as I laid down, and he lifted my shirt to reveal my belly. He placed this cold goop on me then placed a wand on my stomach as he moved it around.
As he looked at the screen, he said, "Interesting."
"What do you mean interesting?" Nash asked, concern.
"Well, what I am picking up is there is one, two, three, and four babies." He pointed at the screen, and our jaws dropped.
"Quads?" We both exclaimed in shock.
"Looks that way," the doctor remarked as we stared at the monitor in shock.
We looked at each other than the doctor moved it around more. "Hold up. One was hiding. Yep, there they are." He froze the screen.
"Quints?" we yelled as we did a double-take. Who in the hell has five babies at once? We do.
"From the looks of it, I would say so," the doctor mentioned.
"How is that doctor? The most this family has ever had would be triplets," I said to him.
He turned off the machine and then looked at me. "My guess is you dropped three eggs. Have you had any medical issues in the past?" He asked me, trying to understand why we were having so many babies at one time.
"I got sick and went through an issue with the medication. The only medication I'm on is blood pressure medication," I explained to the doctor.
"Well, that could explain it. Your reproductive system could have altered. It's not uncommon for things to change when you go through an experience like that," the doctor reasoned.
I looked at Nash, and he looked at me. "Well, you wanted your five, and now you can get fixed." He sighed. That would teach him.
The doctor gave us instructions. Since I was carrying so many, I needed to be careful. That meant I needed to take it easy and not overdo it. That is where the family would come in handy.
We left the doctor's office, and I looked at Nash. "Five?"
"Five," he responded.
We're shocked, and not only that, but we also had to drop this little bombshell on the family. The big question was, how were we going to handle five little ones on top of running a business?
