Nash got a call in the middle of the night. "Hello?" He answered with a mumble.
Kat's in labor, we're on our way to the hospital.
"Okay," he mumbled and hung up the phone.
I stirred and pushed him. "Who was that?"
"Nix," he answered with his eyes closed.
"What did he want?"
"Kat's in labor," he replied as he fell back to sleep.
"Oh," I mentioned as I closed my eyes then reopened them. We both got up and got dressed. We had to grab the quints. Luckily, Nathan stopped by. He walked upstairs. "Need a hand?"
"Yes," Nash said, as Nathan helped with Lakin.
"Why are you here?" He asked him.
"Nixon called. Macey told me to stop by and help. She's staying home and getting some sleep," he explained.
"Good thinking," Nash said to him.
We finished getting the quints ready and started downstairs when we stopped. Nash took a whiff. "Larkin? You couldn't wait." He promptly turned around to change her.
"Damn Larkin knows how to rile daddy up," Nathan chuckled.
"You don't have any idea," I said as we continued out to the van. Yes, we were those people that needed to have a trailer to haul our team around.
Nash finally came out with Larkin and placed her car seat in her base. Then he got in and pulled out. Getting the quints ready was always crazy. Either needed changing, one needed feeding, or one wanted to give us a hard time. Then they all switched off.
If I didn't know any better, I would say there was more to come with them.
We pulled up to the hospital and Nate met us outside, helping us with the babies. We walked in and set down the car seats. The babies slept while we were there, thank GodGod.
We waited for word. I hated hospitals.
After two hours, Nixon walked out.
"Well," Nate asked.
"Mom and sons are doing great. Kat came through like a champ. Ready to meet them?" He asked all of us with a big grin on his face.
"Definitely," Pat exclaimed.
We all grabbed car seats and went back. Once inside the room, we set the quints down and saw Kat holding one baby. Nixon picked up the other one. "Meet Kaiden and Kain," Nixon announced.
The twins were adorable and a mixture of Nixon and Kat. Nixon walked over, handing Kaiden to me. He squirmed, then let out a little squeak with Lex letting out a squeal.
Nash undid Lex's restraints and pulled him out. He brought him close to Kaiden and smiled a toothless smile. Then he took him over to Kain and the same thing. I guess those three would be close.
The girls weren't having any part of it and started getting fussy. I handed Kaiden back to Nixon and pick up Luna, and Nate, Pat, and Nathan picked up Lyric, Larkin, and Lakin.
That would be an exciting time for the girls. It seems they were a little jealous of others.
After visiting for a while, we headed out. I'm exhausted, and the babies needed to sleep. Once we got home, we put them to bed, and I crawled into bed, myself. Nash joined me after taking care of Luna.
We lay in bed, and I cuddled up next to Nash. He wrapped his arms around me, and we both drifted off to sleep. I was lucky to have Nash. Not only was he a great husband but an awesome father. I could not have been any more fortunate than I was to have him.
Nixon and Kat brought their boys home a few days later, and everyone was settling in as families. It was crazy but worth it.
Around my eight-week checkup, the doctor cleared me. I could resume, ahem, marital duties, and continue we did. We had Nate and Pat keep the quints so we could get reacquainted with each other.
I will not lie, it hurt like a bitch the first time, but after a while; pleasure replaced the pain. Boy, we found happiness. We found joy in the bedroom, the shower, the living room, the kitchen, and most of the house except for the kid's rooms. Those were off-limits.
I laid on my stomach on the bed as I felt someone kiss up my back, making their way to my neck then to my lips. Nash laid down next to me and said, "This beats lotion any day."
I giggled.
"Good thing I can't have anymore, or I'm pretty sure; we would expect another one."
"So, are you good with our five?" He asked me.
"I'm more than good. Will I miss the quints as babies? But we still got the toddler years and ten years to go," I reminded him.
"Yeah, you need not remind me," he sighed.
"Is Daddy worried about his girls?" I asked him with a mocking tone.
"Nope, I'm worried about my boy. I already know my girls will be bat shit crazy," he said to me. I couldn't help but laugh.
If they were anything like Lucille, I knew. I had a feeling the girls would give us a run for their money, and poor Lex would get caught in the crossfire, GodGod saves us all.
