"Ma! Larkin is a pain in the ass once again," I heard Lyric yell.
What are they doing now? There is always something going on with those two.
"Ma, please tell Luna to put some clothes on! Her ass is hanging out again," Lakin yelled.
"Only because I have an ass unlike you," Luna yelled back.
"Christ, is that all you idiots do is argue?" Lex asked them.
"Who asked you?" Larkin snapped.
Is it sad that I have to hide in my bedroom in the closet from my children? Dealing with five crazy seventeen-year-olds was ridiculous.
"What the hell is going on here? You two knock it off! Luna, change your outfit! Don't even give me that look! Lakin stops your bitching, and Lex go find something productive to do with your life!" I heard Nash yell at them. Thank God he was home.
The door opened and closed, then the closet door opened, and I looked at Nash. "Hi, honey," I greeted him with a small smile.
"Hiding again?" He asked me as I nodded.
"When schools start?" I asked him.
"In a month," he chuckled. He reached out his hand, and I took it. He helped me up, and I kissed him.
"I can't wait to get back to the bakery," I sighed.
"I know, baby girl," he assured me.
"Ma and Dad called. They want us to stop over and see Grammy," I mentioned to him.
"This ought to go over well with the hellions," he sighed.
"Yeah, well, Grammy can handle them," I smirked.
"I can't believe it's been five years," he sighed as he hugged me.
"I know, hun," I responded as I hugged him back.
It had been five years since Grayson passed away from a heart attack. A few months later, Nate and his brothers moved Lucille back here and into Nate's house. They didn't want her to be alone.
They also fought over who she should stay with when she came home. Jonas and Cayson volunteered Nate, and in their opinion, it was Nate's turn. Such loving sons they are.
Crash! Break!
"Now what?" Nash looked at me as we left the bedroom. We went downstairs to see a mess in the living, and the front window broke.
"What the hell happened here?" Nash yelled.
"They did it," the five of them pointed at each other.
"That's it! I've had enough of your shit! Starting tomorrow, you will work at the bakery to pay for this damn window!" Nash barked at them as he got met by resistance from the quints.
"But I have a date," Luna whined.
"And I have plans with Jessica," Lakin cried.
"I'm busy," Larkin said.
"I already got plans with Piper," Lyric countered.
"You do?" Lex asked her.
"Yeah, I do. Why?" She asked him while looking at him strangely.
"No reason," he shrugged.
Nash looked at them, "Cancel them. You will work. Do I need to call your uncles?"
"No, no," they all said.
"Then I suggest you get your shit together or this will be a very long senior year," he stated to them. "Now clean up this damn mess. I am taking your ma out."
"What about us?" Lakin whined.
"You all should have thought about that before you broke the living room window. Oh, and I want it boarded up, then Lyric, you can call Uncle Cayson and explain why we need a new living room window," he ordered them as he took my hand, leading me out of the living room.
We left the house and got into the car, heading out to dinner.
Life was more comfortable when they were little, but the minute they became teens, they turned into little hellions. I miss them being little.
I had a feeling life was going to get crazier, and their senior year would be the start of it all. If you thought the Gray Brothers were mad, you have seen nothing yet with the Gray sisters.
Poor Lex, he was about to get caught in the crossfire of what was to come, God helps us all.
To continue in The Gray Sisters.
