We arrived back home, and Nash parked a block away from where he was taking me. We got out of the car, and I looked around at him, slightly confused. It was a street with a bunch of houses that didn't look familiar to me.
He walked over to me and swept me off my feet as he held me bridal style in his arms.
"Nash! What are you doing?" I squealed.
He looked at me with his steel-grey eyes and said, "I want you to close your eyes, then when I tell you, you can open them."
I looked at him suspiciously.
"Close them," he ordered me as I sighed as I closed my eyes, then he started walking.
After a while, I finally asked, "Can I open my eyes now?" There was a slight annoyance in my tone.
"Nope, I told you, you had to wait," Nash said as he carried me. I didn't know why he felt the need to take me, but he did.
Finally, he stopped and set me down. He turned me around and whispered in my ear, "Now you can open them."
I opened my eyes to see a Victorian-style house. It looked amazing, thank God, because from what Pat told me about her home, I'm terrified I would have to go through the same thing.
Nash grabbed my hand, leading me up the pathway and onto the porch. It had a good size porch with porch chairs setting on it. Then he opened the door. My jaw dropped open; they already furnished it.
"What do you think?" He asked me curiously.
I turned to him. "It's amazing, but what about our clothes?" It was a question I had been pondering.
"They're already in the dressers and closet. Ma and the others brought our stuff over. They also worked on the house while we were at school. It needed renovation," he said to me casually.
"Is that why the others got houses because they got them as fixer-uppers?" I asked him.
"Pretty much, Ma thought Dad would hurt Jonas a couple of hundred times," he chuckled. I giggled at that.
Nash closed the door and took me on a tour of the house; to the right was a dining room, the left was the living room, and Some stairs separated them. We walked through the dining room, and there was the kitchen. It was big. It was big enough to hold a regular size table.
Nash led me upstairs. It surprised me; there were six bedrooms. We had a master bedroom with a bathroom, and there were two other full-size bathrooms. There was also a half bath on the main floor.
I looked at Nash. "Is there a reason there are so many bedrooms?"
"Well, I always wanted a big family," he said with a slight wince.
"How big are we talking?" I looked at him suspiciously.
"Seven," he answered as he winced.
I looked at him like he lost his damn mind.
"I meant seven, including us," he reassured me.
"Wait, you're telling me you want five kids?" I looked at him incredulously.
"Is that a problem?" He asked me, not knowing what I would say.
"I don't know. Were you going to be carrying the babies?" I gave him an annoyed look.
He gave me a look. What? It was a reasonable question.
"Mags," he put his arms around my waist, "I want to have a family with you. I like big families. It's what I grew up with," he informed me.
