I fell asleep in my clothes. Luna woke me the next morning, laden with a steaming tray of hot food.

"Breakfast bribe!" she squealed, placing it on my lap. I couldn't help but smile back as she sat down and began eating the majority of the food herself.

"So" she began "I thought maybe we could do something today"

I shrugged, already bored of sitting in this room.

"Well, after the little stunt you pulled earlier, we can't really leave the premises, so we can, urm..." she stopped eating to think, flicking her long, dark hair behind her ears.

"I know! We can go to training!"

I grimaced.

"Werewolf training?" I asked, cringing.

"Well, it doesn't necessarily involve transformations. Think of it as a workout. Come on, it'll fun! All the other chicks around here take everything waaaay to seriously - I need a partner in crime!" she giggled. I drew back, hesitantly.

"Er, I don't know..." I said but Luna was already grinning.

"Great! Lets go!"

Before I could protest, she dragged me out the room and led me through their maze of a mansion, before depositing me on the back field. A small group were already warming up at the end. Luna was practically bouncing.

"Yay! And you ought to be strong competiton for once, since you're-" she stopped abruptly, eyeing me warily.

"What?" I demanded and she shrugged, taking off towards the group. I sidled after her.

Rafael was talking to a few boys and I jolted Luna back to my side.

"You never told me Rafael was going to be here!" I hissed and she shot me a surprised stare. I held it.

"Sorry, it's just extraordinary; I've never seen a mate so blatantly disliking their other half. Some people never find theirs." she muttered. I sighed.

"Like I said, I didn't want this! I understand its bad for them - but what about me? I never wanted this stupid lifestyle!"

Luna gave me a hurt look.

"Well, neither did Raf. You could've least tried to understand us." she said and then slunk off, leaving me alone in the middle of the field. I was furious (even though at who, I was no longer sure).

Why did this have to happen to me???

I saw Rafael call the group over and I made a beeline for the mansion, just wanting to mope in a room for a while.

"Keira! Come here; you need more training than anyone!" a familiar, masculine voice hollered over at me. I couldn't help but obey (probably some stupid werewolf thing) and trudged over moodily.

"Okay, pair up!" Rafael shouted. Wow, this was cruel - I hated PE at school and now I was virtually doing it here. I spotted Luna who was dutifully making her way over to me, but Rafael cut her off and she shrugged, turning around. Rafael then came over to me.

"I'll go with you" he said, as if it was the last thing he wanted. I narrowed my eyes.

"It's OK. I wouldn't want to inflict myself on you" I said, sarcastically. He chuckled.

"Oh, but you have to." he said "I need to assess your skill level - it's just standard protocol. Plus I don't think many others would be able to handle you right now."

"What that supposed to mean?" I said, venomously. He smirked even more.

"A livid alpha female who looks ready to bite someone's head off? I'm not even sure my beta, Kellen, and Luna, his mate, would be able to take you on."

"Hey! I'm not a livid alpha female!" I said indignantly and he laughed even more. He turned to the others.

"Okay, fighting practise!" he yelled and everyone immediately began attacking each other in such a barbaric way, I recoiled from him.

"I am not doing that!" I insisted, sounding like a diva, but beyond caring. He smirked even wider.

And lunged at me.

Déjà vu, much?
