Scott and Mitch got home on Monday, which is also Kevin and Todrick's first day back at work. They had left a few hours ago, and the house feels empty without them.
"Okay, you guys know that the Betas won't be here during the day anymore, which means there are no peace keepers to be around and control this place. So, no arguing or fighting. If there's a problem, tell one of us," He gestures to himself and Avi, "And we'll settle it. I know I sound like a lame amusement park worker, but I figured I'd tell you guys." Scott announces at breakfast.
"We can't visit Toddy and Kurvy, can we?"
"No, we can't, love. They're helping people get better, but they'll be home before we know it." Mitch nods and continues eating his food.
"Wait, why can't we see them?" Kirstie asks.
"Surgeons have very busy jobs. They may get pulled into an emergency surgery or they might be very busy with their patients and we can't get in the way of that."
"Oh, that makes sense. Thank you."
Avi suddenly gasps, "What if I break your arm? Then we can see them, right?"
"No, dipshit, I wouldn't need surgery."
"Got it, so I just cut off your arm and we're in." He grabs a knife, "Hold still." They all laugh.
"That's still not either of their specialties."
"Well, obviously I'm not gonna hurt a kid to see Todrick. Quick, do something with your bowel so we can see Kevin."
"Why can't you?"
"Sounds painful and I don't wanna."
"I'm having a kid, Av."
"That's not fair."
"Mitch and Peyton think it's fair."
"It's very fair, Alpha." Avi does his super-frown, "Oh, put that away." They all laugh, once again, and carry on with the rest of their meal.
But, as we all know, nothing can ever be peaceful in this pack for more than 30 minutes because Motherfairy will get bored...
Suddenly, a rock crashed through the window with a note on it, causing the two Omegas to practically scream.
"What the hell?" Scott stands up and reads the note out loud.
"I've given you enough chances to give back my Mitchell, but time's up. I guess I'll just have to take matters into my own hands, see you soon." Mitch grabs the note and reads it again before crumbling it up and throwing it in the trash.
"He can't get me back, we won't be able to. He won't, right?" Mitch looks up at Scott.
"No, we won't let him take you."
"B-because if he did, he would hurt the baby. Even if I told him, he would hurt both of us. And I wouldn't be able to protect her."
"What? No, stop. We'll protect you and him so Carson won't hurt either of you."
"You don't know that."
"You're right, I don't know what's gonna happen. But, I promise I will do my best to not let him take you again."
