Birthday Bonding and Guests Arrive

THE FRENCH QUARTER

For the next few hours Marcel did whatever he could think of to distract Nicole. He even went shopping with her. He paid for everything even though she protested. Nicole really got know Marcel and totally understood him now. They both told each other their life stories and embarrassing moments. "You know I'm actually having a lot of fun with you today." Nicole said with a smile. "Oh really?" Marcel asks curious. "Yeah I kinda feel like you're like a big brother to me. My Dad always talks about you like you're the son who left for college and never calls." She says. Marcel chuckles. "Well, I guess I kinda am. Your Dad made me who I am but I don't wanna follow in his footsteps you know?" Marcel asks. "I do; and trust me you're not doing it as much as you were when I came into town." Nicole says proudly. "Uncle Elijah told me about you way before I even came here but he said you died." Nicole says with sadness. "Your family thought I did, but they never came back to find out for sure. They just ran." Marcel says with sadness. "Because of Mikael?" Nicole asks. Marcel nodded. "Yeah. Mikael's done a lot of damage to them." Marcel says with anger. "I know he's my grandfather and Esther is my grandmother but I'm kinda glad I never met them. I feel like they would use me to get to my dad, Elijah and Rebekah." Nicole says looking for Marcel's input. "Knowing Mikael, he probably would've. I don't know about Esther." He says shrugging. He looked at Nicole who was deep in thought. "What are you thinking?" Marcel asks. "I just get these feelings from time to time like somethings coming. Something that has to do with Mikael and Esther..." She trailed off still thinking. "Okay enough about dead grandparents. Let's go to my bar so I can finally hear you sing." Marcel says pulling her down the street.

MIKAELSON COMPOUND

As Rebekah and Caroline are decorating Klaus and Stefan walk in talking amongst themselves while Elena and Damon are holding hands, Elijah is chatting with Bonnie, and Matt and Alaric are following in last. "Finally!" Rebekah says noticing they're all here. "Jeremy they're here!" Caroline yells up the stairs. Jeremy comes out of his room, runs down the stairs, runs to Elena and hugs her. "So they're all here safe and sound." Klaus says proudly to Rebekah as everyone is hugging and saying. "Okay, now, we all have a lot of bad blood between us. For Nicole's sake we Mikaelson's have decided to call a truce. Friends forever. She loves all of you and we are her family. Please?" Rebekah asks looking at each face. Slowly but surely, they all smile and agree. "Alright, now that that's settled, I will show our guests to their rooms while Rebekah and Miss Forbes finish decorating. You all have meals and fresh linens waiting for you." Elijah says ushering them to their rooms. Jeremy grabs some of the luggage and follows.

Elena stays behind and walks up to Rebekah. "That was very nice of you guys." Elena says with a small smile. "Yes well, I would do anything for my niece. We're not on good terms right now but I love her and she deserves it. She's done nothing but sacrifice for this family." Rebekah says with sincerity. Elena nods in understanding. "You Mikaelson's always put family first. She is definitely one of you. I wanna make amends with you Rebekah. We never got along and I hurt you. I didn't want to stab you in the back the way I did. I'm sorry." Elena says with a guilt ridden face. Rebekah gives her a small smile. "Apology accepted. I understand why you did what you did. All is forgotten." Rebekah says and gives Elena a small hug. "Now!" Rebekah says pulling out of the hug. "You need to go eat and get ready for tonight." She says with a smile. Elena nodded and walked away to follow the others. "Okay, back to work." Rebekah says to Caroline. Caroline smiles at her but turns to Jeremy with a serious look. "Go tell your sister." She says pointing at Elena. "Tell me what?" Elena asks turning from where she was. Jeremy took a deep breath. "El, I wanted to tell you in person instead of over the phone so here goes..." Jeremy said looking at his sister who had panic on her face. "Nicole and I are dating. It just happened but I wanted to tell you before you found out by seeing us together." He said with a guilty expression. Elena looked at Caroline and Rebekah who were obviously listening and watching while pretending to work. "Well, thank you for being honest with me. You know we're not the best of friends but if she makes you happy then I guess I'll learn to live with it. I knew you always had feelings for her." Elena said with a small smile and turned to go to her room. Jeremy let out a sigh of relief. "See everything's good." Caroline said to Jeremy. "For now... Till you tell her about the whole 'mate' thing." Rebekah says with a smirk.
