ST. ANNE'S CHURCH
Nicole, Father Kieran and Elijah have gathered a meeting for the various supernatural and human factions to settle on an agreement, including Genevieve and Diego to represent the witches and the vampires, respectively. "St. Anne's has long been neutral ground in our city. So, it's only fitting that we gather in this chamber at the behest of Elijah Mikaelson to bring harmony to this place we call home. Thank you all for coming." Father Kieran says to the guests. Nicole stands next to Elijah. "Yes, thank you for coming. And welcome." Nicole hands Elijah the rules of the city. He holds up a signed parchment. "These are the rules of the city according to Marcel Gerard." He tears the parchment in half. "Which, of course, no longer apply, because I'm in charge." He says and hands the scraps to Nicole. She then walks to a lit candle and burns the parchment. "You said that if we came along, that we would get to run things by ourselves. You never mentioned anything about making yourself king." Diego spits out. Nicole glared at him. "Well, you were each selected to represent your own communities. In our honor, however, any issues that arise between factions, it will come to me. Now, we are all responsible for the current chaos in the city. However, you have one very, very simple choice ahead of you here: you can all play nicely together, or you can leave." Elijah says with a smirk.
Nicole's phone rings. All attention goes to her. "Excuse me." She says and walks outside the church. She sees it's Hayley calling. "Hey Hayley what's up?" She asks. "Nicole, is Elijah holding a meeting for the towns supernatural factions? Tell me the truth." Hayley asks angrily. Nicole is taken back by Hayley's harshness. "Yeah he is, why what's wrong?" She answered confused. Her phone clicked. Hayley hung up. "What the hell?" Nicole asked herself. Something was off. Nicole didn't understand why Hayley was so angry. "I need coffee." She walked to a small coffee shop by the church and sat by herself for a good twenty minutes.
Nicole walks back into the church and sees everyone is arguing over Elijah's new terms. "Woah." She watches them argue. "This is our city, too! We should be able to go wherever the hell we want!" Diego yelled at Genevieve. "We would consider it an act of war!"Genevieve yells over Diego's shout. Kieran looks agitated and pale. "We're getting nowhere. You vile creatures cannot agree." Kieran says losing his temper due to the hex. Elijah shouts them all into silence. "Father, calm yourself, please." He lowers his voice. "Thank you. Nicole could you get Father Kieran some water?" Nicole nodded to her uncle. She walked over to the folding table with beverages on it. She pours water into a plastic cup and walks to Kieran. Elijah nods in thank you. "Now returning to the issue of boundaries, you will all heed to the following..."Elijah is cut off by Hayley, who has just crashed the meeting. "Are you serious? You're dividing up the city, and the werewolves don't even get a say?"
Hayley is fuming. Diego angrily stands up and points at Hayley. "What the hell is she doing here?" Nicole moves next to Hayley and puts her arm in front of her to protect her. "Diego, sit. We are not dividing the city. We're establishing boundaries..." Elijah begins to say but Hayley cuts him off again. "No, Elijah! There is not gonna be a peace if the werewolves are excluded. They want a seat at the table." Diego and Genevieve both scoff. "And if they don't get one, I can guarantee that you will all regret it." Hayley threatens. Nicole just stares at Hayley with wide eyes. Elijah looks at Nicole with anger because he realizes Hayley was the phone call and Nicole told her what was going on.
The leaders all begin to argue again, and Elijah pulls Hayley and Nicole aside to talk to them privately. "Do either of you have any idea what it took just to get those people in one room together?" He was becoming angry. "No, actually, I don't! Because I didn't even know what you were doing out here until someone else told me. Tell me something, Elijah. Did you leave the werewolves out because of me?" Hayley was hurt. Elijah sighed. "I excluded them because they no longer reside in the French Quarter; except for Nicole who is also half witch." He says and Nicole looks guilty. "My immediate concern is to end the mounting conflict here. Now, I can assure you once this treaty is solidified, it will expand to include your people." He said calmly.
Nicole just watched the two. "And until then, I should tell them what? Sit? Stay? Roll over?" Hayley raised her voice. "I would prefer that you remove yourself from the process all together!" Elijah shouted back. "Uncle Elijah!" Nicole said and grabbed his arm to calm him. Hayley glares at him, and Elijah realizes that he was rude. His demeanor becomes softer. "Hayley, are you absolutely certain that you shouldn't return to the compound?" He asks calmly. Hayley laughs sarcastically. "You think the baby belongs there? You think that's where she'll be safe?" Hayley asked extremely serious. "You think Nicole belongs there?" She added in. Nicole put her head down knowing she had a point. Her and that baby weren't safe anywhere in New Orleans as long as the factions were at war. "Is the Bayou any better?" Elijah asked. Hayley grew impatient. "The wolves deserve a voice. For your niece's sake. Give them one. You know it's the right thing to do. See you later Nicole." Hayley heads back to the Bayou, leaving Elijah and Nicole to consider her argument. "You know she's right. I should be the faction for the wolves since I'm the only one here who is a wolf." Nicole says quietly. Elijah huffs in frustration "Yes I know." He says through gritted teeth and walks back to the meeting.
