THE MIKAELSON COMPOUND-- HAYLEY'S BEDROOM
Hayley is sitting on her bed, thinking, when Klaus approaches her room. She notices him, but he still stops and knocks before fully entering. "You've proved quite resilient, little wolf. Fighters, both you and Nicole." Klaus smiles. "I guess we've had to be. Especially lately." She looks at Klaus, but he is speechless. "I've decided that I'm going to move back in." Hayley says with a sigh. "Well, I'm relieved to hear it." Klaus' face softens. "But no mouth-breathing bodyguards, no telling me what to do." Hayley says with a stern face. Klaus smiles. "All I ask is that the child is kept safe." Klaus says. "And what about me? What happens after she's born? If you try to take her away from me, I..." Hayley begins but Klaus interrupts her. "...Come with me, hmm?" He asks and heads out the door, but stops when he sees she isn't following him. "Please. I want to show you something." Hayley reluctantly gets up and follows Klaus out the door. He takes her to another room in the compound.
Nicole is standing outside and opens a door which shows that Klaus has already set up to be a nursery, complete with a crib, a bassinet, and a gorgeous mobile hanging from the ceiling, among other things. Hayley stares in surprise as she takes everything in. "Believe it or not, Hayley, I would actually like you to be here. Our daughter should be raised by her parents, in her family home." Klaus says genuinely. Hayley touches the crystals hanging from the mobile and smiles at him affectionately. "You, me, Nicole, Elijah, and miracle-baby, all under one roof? Sounds like a bad reality show." Hayley says with a small chuckle. Klaus chuckles nervously and pauses for a moment. "Uh, you both said you saw my father?" Klaus asks looking at Nicole and Hayley. "Why do you call him that? He's not your real dad." Hayley says confused. "He's done damage only a father could do." Klaus pauses to compose himself. "What did he say to you?" He asks, scared of their answers. Hayley looks at Nicole and Nicole smiles warmly at her. "Nothing true." Hayley says with a smile to Klaus. Klaus considers this for a moment, and then genuinely smiles before leaving the room. He and Nicole link arms and leave Hayley alone. Hayley looks at the wall, on which Klaus has hung the painting he made of New Orleans. It includes a cityscape at night with a large full moon painted in the sky above the buildings.
MIKAELSON COMPOUND BALCONY/THE FRENCH QUARTER
The celebration of Father Kieran's life is still going strong, as people drink and dance in the streets to the marching band playing jazz music. Elijah is watching the action from the balcony of the compound when Genevieve finds him. "Hayley and the baby are fine. I'd take her to a doctor once she's gotten some rest, if you want, but she's in the clear." She waits for a response, but when Elijah remains silent, she sighs. "I'll see myself out." Genevieve says as she turns to leave. "Genevieve. Thank you for your help." Elijah says to her. "You're welcome." Genevieve replies; surprised by Elijah's gratitude. "You tore my sister from my family. I cannot forgive that. However, I may be inclined to show a degree more kindness if you could help me with a slight... issue." Elijah says to her. "Anything." Genevieve responds anxiously. "When the baby arrives, Hayley will once again transform with the full moon. Now, I would like to create for her a gift-- a ring of empowerment, something to control this... curse." Elijah explained. "What kind of spell would..." Genevieve began to ask confused. Elijah cuts her off. "A spell of my mother's, from her grimoire. Which, as I understand, you have been rather eager to obtain." Genevieve grins slyly, clearly interested in this proposal.
