LAFAYETTE CEMETERY

Rebekah and Nicole are in a tomb at the cemetery. Nicole is healed and pacing while Rebekah is talking to Marcel, who is still at St. Anne's. "What a fool I am. I actually thought Davina would come to the rescue." Rebekah says with sadness in her voice. "I'll get someone else. Whole town is full of witches." Marcel says with determination. "All of whom despise you." Rebekah adds matter of factly. "I'll figure this out. Meantime, just don't piss Klaus off any more than he already is." Marcel says warning her. "It's a little late for that. I may have provoked him further. But then, I didn't much care for his accusations that you seduced me into bringing Mikael." Rebekah told him. "Wait a minute. I would never do that." Marcel says with disgust. "We almost got away. If we just kept going, we could be anywhere in the world by now. Klaus might've found us and killed us, but he'll do that, anyway. Would've been nice to have a little happiness first." Rebekah says holding back tears.

Nicole walks over and hugs her Aunt from behind trying to comfort her. Rebekah looks at her, smiling, she wraps her free arm around Nicole's shoulder. "He's not gonna kill you. You're his sister." Marcel tries to convince her. "And you're like a son to him, and, believe me, he means to kill you. You know, I've never much thought about dying. One of the perks of being immortal, I guess. What an odd thing it is, to be here one minute and gone the next. Rather terrifying." She says in realization. "Rebekah..." Marcel says trying to make her stop. "You need to run, Marcel. When the moon reaches its apex, Klaus will be free, and he will do to you what he's going to do to me, only worse. Go now and don't look back." Rebekah hangs up on Marcel and turns to Nicole who looks panicked for Marcel.

On the other side of the cemetery Klaus and Elijah continue to fight. "So what's it gonna be? You hold both weapons. Tunde's blade would put me down, but the stake could finish me off for good." Klaus says trying to provoke Elijah. "Well, unlike you, brother; I have no taste for fratricide." Elijah says and holds up the stake. "I only hold this to keep it from you." He continues and holds up Papa Tunde's blade. "This is just my insurance." He says simply. "Why must you defend her?" Klaus walks towards Elijah. "Rebekah betrayed you as well, when she brought Mikael here." He says quietly. "Because she is our sister, and because I like to remember her the way that she was before we became what we became. She was an innocent girl, quick to laugh, full of life." Elijah says with fondness.

Klaus looks down remembering their childhood. "My memories serve to make her betrayal more painful." Klaus says with a look of disdain. "Can you not then accept some small part of the blame? After all, Niklaus, it was your cruelty that led her to do what she did." Elijah says trying to make him understand the scope of the damage Klaus has inflicted on Rebekah. "Do you not see, Elijah? She didn't mean to chase me off. She wanted me dead." Klaus says growing frustrated. "You're wrong." Elijah says shaking his head. "She has always hated me. You know that's true." Klaus says sauntering over to Elijah with again the finger pointed. "You have no idea, do you?" Elijah asks in disbelief. Klaus tilts his head not understanding. "You have no idea what she was prepared to do for you. When our sister sees something that she perceives to be an injustice, she can be stubborn, impetuous, and, at times, downright dangerous. And never was this more apparent than the night she tried to kill our father." Elijah says while seeing a memory of Rebekah with Mikael's knife, ready to stab him to death in his sleep. "What is this, some melodramatic fiction designed to garner my sympathy?" Klaus asks with a smirk. "It is the truth." Elijah says. Klaus knows by Elijah's face that it is the truth. "I was there. And she would have done it, all to protect you, had I not stopped her. I often wished that I could revisit that moment, complete the task myself."

Elijah says seeing the memory again of Rebekah before she goes to stab him, Elijah grabs the knife from her hand before yanking her back to her bed. "Why are you telling me this now?" Klaus asks angrily and turns his back on Elijah. "Niklaus, sometimes our sister acts without thinking. She's short of temper, she's quick to fall in love, but she loves you." Elijah says and points the stake at Klaus. While his back is turned Klaus lets his tears fall. "But, your malicious treatment has broken her heart. So, yes, she responded by summoning our father. Yes, that was a mistake. I'm not entirely sure that I can blame her." Elijah says being honest. Klaus slowly turns around. "I can." With that being said; Klaus vamp-speeds to the tomb where Rebekah is hiding, but Elijah beats him there.

Nicole stands outside the tomb meeting her father's glare with her hands raised. "Don't do this Dad. I don't want to hurt you." Nicole says with hurt in her eyes. Elijah stands next to her defensively holding a weapon in each of his hands. "Niklaus, so help me..." Elijah begins but Klaus cuts him off. "Are you really going to stand against me? And not with that pathetic blade. You'd just have to pull it out someday, and then I'd hate you as I do her. Now, If you want to protect Rebekah, you'll need to use the white oak stake." Klaus says as he inches towards Elijah. "I don't have to listen to this nonsense." Elijah says sternly. Nicole cannot believe Klaus is even thinking like this. "Oh, don't pretend you haven't thought about it." Klaus says with a look of disbelief. "You look at me, and you see everything you abhor in yourself." Klaus says pointing at Elijah. "Sure, you dress it up with your fancy suits and your handkerchiefs." Klaus says waving his hands at Elijah's body. "You, with your mask of civility and eloquence, you're every bit the abomination I am. Or worse. Go on, Elijah. Go on. Use the white oak stake." Klaus says getting in Elijah's face hoping to tempt him into using it. They are inches apart. Nicole steps in between them, and uses her magic to throw the white oak stake far away. She looks to Elijah who nods in appreciation. Elijah glares at Klaus. "I'm not so cowardly that I have to kill you, Niklaus, but if I have to make you suffer to protect Rebekah, that is what I will do." Elijah says completely calm but a threatening look on his face.

Nicole just stares at the two brothers, waiting for one of them to make a move. "You see?" Klaus asks smirking. "I knew you couldn't do it." Klaus says turning his back on them. "You have my daughter use her magic so you won't have to use it. You still cling to the hope that I can be redeemed, and if the bastard can be saved, then maybe there's hope for you." Klaus says and vamp-speeds over to Elijah, grabs Papa Tunde's blade, and stabs it into Elijah's heart. Nicole gasps in horror. "There. Now you know how it feels." Elijah falls to the ground, gasping in agony and glaring at Klaus. "Dad!" Nicole runs over and holds Elijah's head in her lap. "It's okay Uncle Elijah. Just hang on." Nicole says through her tears. She puts her hands over the wound and begins chanting.

Suddenly, Rebekah appears behind him. "That was supposed to be my line." She says and holds up the white oak stake that she just picked up from where Nicole threw it. "Now, I have this." She says glaring at Klaus. He has fear in his eyes. "So I decide who lives and who dies." Rebekah says with revenge in her eyes. Nicole is just about fed up with Rebekah and Klaus crap. "I'm taking out that blade right now. You two can continue to try and kill each other." Nicole snaps angrily at her father. "You'll have to kill me first." Klaus says with venom in his words to Nicole. Nicole freezes at his words. Did he really think she was capable of killing her father? "Rebekah now holds the means to do so. Why not finish what you started a century ago?" He asks spitefully raising his arms in surrender. "I did not want you dead. I wanted you to run." Rebekah says quietly holding the stake out in front of her for protection. "Liar!" Klaus yells at her.  "You wanted revenge." He says quiet again. "You drove me to betray you, and now you want to twist it and make it worse so you can justify killing me instead of accepting your own fault?" Rebekah asks calmly but shaking in fear of him. Nicole watched on still trying to ease Elijah's pain. "All I did was love your friend! You could've been happy for us, but instead, in your paranoia, you feared losing us both. And, because of that, you did." Rebekah says with tears in her eyes. Klaus remains silent; knowing she's right. "There is no one else to blame, Nik. Only you." Rebekah says proving her point. Klaus decides to toy with her. "Where is Marcel now, hmm? I thought he loved you, and yet he left you trapped in here with me." He says with a murderous glint in his eyes.
