Esther Strikes Again and Brotherly Quarrel

THE MIKAELSON COMPOUND

Nicole returned home as soon as she was able to stand. She walked into the compound to see Elijah at the door in the courtyard. "Nicole." He says quietly enough for her to hear him. "What?" She answered him, not really wanting to speak to him. "I'm sorry you had to see that." He says with a solemn expression. "Well I truthfully couldn't stand Thierry but I also saw a side of you that I never thought existed. You were definitely the monster everyone in Mystic Falls warned me about. That when it comes to power and family; you will kill without blinking." She spat at him. He had a look of shame on his face. "Marcel is a part of this family. Dad and you raised him. You watched him grow in this house. That makes him family; my family. If you hurt him; you hurt me. I will not play Elena Gilbert and let you or my father kill my loved ones. Understand me now Uncle Elijah; if you ever kill Marcel, you will all lose me forever." She says while walking closer to him and getting in his face. As she's speaking the lights are flickering and the wind is picking up. Her wolf eyes began to show. Elijah didn't understand what was happening. She had that fierceness that was there the night Esther possessed her. She was becoming more powerful day by day. Klaus walks into the scene before him. He sees Nicole about to reach into Elijah's chest. Klaus vamped over and wrapped his arms around her. "Nicole stop!" He yelled. Suddenly she snapped out of her trance and came back to the present. She saw that her hand was an inch away from Elijah's chest. Elijah was in shock at what he just saw. That was not his angel. Nicole looked around. "What's happening to me?" She asks totally confused by what just happened. "Uncle Elijah, I'm so sorry" She says and collapses into his arms. Klaus and Elijah just held her and comforted her. After a few minutes she fell asleep from exhaustion. Klaus carried her up to her room and laid her in bed.

He came back down to see Elijah waiting for him, with his hands still bloody from killing Thierry. "Well, I see that you've already avenged the little wolf. But judging by your look, you're still out for blood." Klaus says with a devious smirk on his face. "If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results, then surely my quest for your salvation ranks me as one of the maddest of men." Elijah says unmoved by assumption. "Come on, then. What horrible deed has the bastard done this time?" Klaus asks curious to Elijah's tone. "Do you know, in the past, I actually appreciated the methods to your manipulations? However, now, here we are, poised on the brink of a new era which will benefit not only your home but your children. Especially your eldest daughter; who is a hybrid of her own kind. She needs this alliance more than anyone considering she is wolf and witch, and you go behind my back to conspire with the wolves." Elijah says not understanding his brother's actions. "Conspire is hardly the word I would use for a family council. Lest you forget, Elijah, they are my family as much as any Mikaelson. A name, in truth, I cannot even call my own." Klaus says with disdain in his voice. "How casually you disavow 1,000 years of allegiance towards you." Elijah says sadly. "And now that I've found the remnants of my other family, am I to ignore their plight? Nicole's clan? I would've thought you'd support my desire to help them, when in doing so, I help Hayley, and both my children." Klaus says manipulating Elijah. "Do not question my allegiance towards that child." Elijah says growing angry. "Oh, and I suppose your affection for Hayley has nothing to do with your tireless dedication. Yes, you see, I saw how you cared for her tonight. Called her name in the dark. The zeal with which you destroy those who would harm her." Klaus spat at him. "I have denied every single impulse I have ever had for that woman. Out of some misbegotten respect for intentions that you don't even have." Elijah says his temper growing more and more. "I'm warning you..." Klaus says but Elijah pushes him. "I'm warning you. I've forgiven you. I have stood by you. I've forsaken every single one of my desires in the name of your ridiculous redemption. No more. If I want something I'll take it. And nothing; nothing will stand in my way." Elijah says and walks away.
