ST. ANNE'S CHURCH
Cami and Nicole arrive in the attic to find Father Kieran shackling his ankles to the floor. "Is that really necessary?" Cami asked in shock. "The sickness, it's-- it's overtaking my inclination to forgive. Replacing it with one thought that I could barely contain at the summit: 'Kill every last one of them'." He said with such anger and hate. "I'm gonna help you guys figure it out." Nicole said trying to ease the tension. "I tried to figure it out with Sean, but I was focused too much on that instead of trying to stop him, and I'm not-- I'm not gonna let that happen to me." Nicole and Cami exchanged worried glances. Nicole felt terrible.
Kieran averted his attention to Cami. "You're an O'Connell. They are going to ask you to take my place at the table. Don't. Just leave. Just start over." She bent down to him. "I'm not going anywhere as long as there's still a chance." Kieran's attitude changed. "How many times do I have to tell you I can't be fixed?" He was changing. "And how many times do I have to tell you I will not stop trying?" Cami asked standing back up. "Cami, stop." Nicole said. She could feel the hex growing stronger by the second. "That is just stubbornness, like-- like when you were a little girl. You always had to be right. You-- you-- you never listened. Just that thick head of yours." His words were cutting Cami like a knife. "I prayed for you. And I got no answer. There is only blackness. There is only death. There's mine, and yours." He said and then reaches out and grabs Cami in an attempt to kill her. "No Cami!" Nicole tries to grab Cami but she thrashes and falls to the ground. She tries to crawl away, but Kieran grabs her leg and pulls her toward him. "No, no, no! Ahh!" Cami yells as Nicole lets go and reaches for a lamp that fell in the scuffle and hit him over the head with it, knocking him unconscious. "Run! Let's go!" Nicole yelled and they ran out of the attic.
MIKAELSON COMPOUND
Klaus is on his balcony, looking out at the city, before returning to his room, grabbing a paintbrush, and returning to his artwork. He finds Nicole and Elijah standing in front of his painting. Elijah is staring at the painting while Nicole is staring at him. "Not a fan of cerulean blue Elijah?" He asks with a smirk. "Not a fan of your continued indifference." Elijah said turning around and facing him . Nicole stood still but inside she was full of rage. She needed to help Cami and Klaus being a useless jerk wasn't helping. "Well, it's difficult trying to unite a community that has a history of mutual loathing." He replied cooly. "Spare us Klaus." Nicole spat at her father. Klaus' head shot up at Nicole's words. She was back to calling him Klaus. He saw his temper in her. She had a strong dark side ever since Esther had possessed her. "Oh so were back to first names are we?" He asked with sarcasm. "Since I just had to help Cami escape from her uncle who was trying to kill her; and you're still painting and not caring... Yeah we are." She said with a sarcastic smile.
He gave her a dark smirk. "A perspective, then for you both? If you want peace, you must begin with the werewolves. A hundred years ago, they had a run at ruling this city. As of late, all they've had is time to watch their enemies tear down that legacy." He said as he painted. Elijah and Nicole exchanged glances. "All the more reason why their enemies are reluctant to bring them to the table." Elijah said moving next to Klaus. "Take a page from Bienville, brother." He squeezes Elijah's shoulder. "If the table's the obstacle, remove it." He pours them both drinks. Nicole is extremely confused. "Do you recall in 1720, the Governor's desperation to secure our help to build the cities first levees? We sat with him, and refused his offer, and so, he plied us with wine, with corseted women, and with raucous camaraderie until he had his yes." He was smiling from ear to ear. Elijah smiled back. "Are you suggesting that I throw a party?" Elijah and Klaus toast each other and drink. Nicole lets out a distressed, aggravated sigh. "You two are unbelievable!" And with that she stormed out of the room.
She ran to her room and pulled her phone out. She needed to talk to Jeremy. She dialed and of course she got his voicemail again. She felt hot tears sting her eyes. She took a deep breath so she could be calm enough to speak. "Hey Jer, it's me again. Um I just really needed to hear your voice. I guess just call me when you can. I hope you're okay. I love you." With that she hung up. She plopped onto her bed and stared at the ceiling. This time she didn't stop her tears from falling.
