"Once upon a time, a long time ago, well, more like twenty years ago. Belle married her Beast in front of 6,000 of their closest personal friends...big cake. Yeah, anyway, instead of the honeymoon, Beast united all of the kingdoms and got himself elected king of the United States of Auradon.
There were four royal families chosen to rule over Auradon, Belle and the Beast, duh, Tiana and Prince Naveen, Cinderella and Prince Charming, and Aurora and Prince Philip.
Together, they rounded up all the villains and the sidekicks, basically all of the really interesting people, and booted them off to the Isle of The Lost with a magical barrier to keep them there.
