When I walked out of the apprentice den, the moon was shining high in the sky. I could barely sleep that night. The next day, me and my litter mates would be made warriors, and I was too exited for sleep. So, I decided to go for a walk. Life had been great since that day hunting with my family. The other apprentices had warmed up to me, and I had gotten really good at hunting and fighting. I was happy because this meant that I might be chosen for deputy someday, and I would become leader and save my Clan. Vinetail was sitting at the camp entrance, staring into the woods, waiting for the slightest sign of movement. I couldn't wait till the day where I became a Warrior, and protecting my Clan would be my only purpose.
      My only worry.
    My only passion.
Suddenly, Vinetail turned her head and looked at me.
"What are you doing up so late?" She asked.
"Oh, just going for a walk." I said cheerfully.
She nodded and let me pass.
As I padded up the hill, I felt refreshed. The air was crisp, and the woods were quiet. It was very peaceful. The distant calls of nightingales filled the air. Suddenly, an image of Wasppaw came into my mind. His silky brown and black fur, his clear green eyes.
What am I doing! Thinking about a fellow apprentice this way! I thought sternly.
But, somehow, every time I thought about Wasppaw, I always smiled.
I continued to walk until I came to the river. I saw a flash of silver as a resting fish suddenly became alert and darted away. I noticed another one resting nearby in the shallows. I swatted it with my paw, sending it flying onto land. I ate it in a few quick bites. It tasted delicious, especially since I was hungry from the assessment the day before. Timberstar had said that that was one of the best performed assessments that he had ever seen. I still bubbled with pride just thinking about it. With a full belly, I padded back top camp, finally ready for sleep.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under Fallen Log for a Clan meeting!" Timberstar's voice rang out.
Yes! It was finally here! My Warrior ceremony! Well, it was my sibling's ceremony too, but still! Four moons had passed since my dream, and my sleep had been peaceful.
"Today we are naming four new Warriors."
