I padded back to camp with my head hanged low. When we got back to camp, Oakfoot was in the clearing and cats were meowing in a panicked tone. I ran up to the she cat and pressed my nose into her cold fur. I still couldn't believe that my own leader had killed her. I saw in the corner of my eye Moonheart padding up to me.
"I... I was just going to see my son, and I found her dead. But, it wasn't Waspclaw. He was fast asleep, and there was no blood on his paws. And they would stain because they are white. So, someone else killed her." She stuttered.
I looked up. Tears stung my eyes.
"Of course it wasn't him! He would never kill the medicine cat, no matter how evil he may be!" I snarled.
Moonheart stepped back at my tone, and I looked away, squeezing my eyes shut.
"I'm sorry." I mumbled.
But, when there was no answer, I looked up to see Cloudbreeze and Smokepelt standing in front of her.
"You, my sister, have nothing to be sorry for." She purred, rubbing my cheek.
I smiled and purred, Cloudbreeze licked my forehead and Smokepelt sat down intertwining my tail with his. I leaned my head on his shoulder as Cloudbreeze sat down as well. Feeling better, I turned around to see Oakfoot sitting and staring at me. I flinched with shock. But, she was not opaque like a normal cat. I could see Timberstar through her pelt. Then she leaned forward and whispered.
"You know what to do." She meowed.
Then with that, her pelt disintegrated into dust and blew away with a sudden breeze.
Her spirit had joined StarClan.
