"Get, ugh, off me!" Cloudpaw growled.
She tried to claw at me, but I was holding her down with all my strength.
"I am done with you being a little piece of mouse doung! You act like your the center of attention and it has gotten on my last nerve!" I spat, nipping at her nose when she tried to struggle.
We growled and hissed at each other, but for some reason, my father didn't interfere. He had a wise look in his eye, like he knew what was going to happen. I looked back down at Cloudpaw, but what I saw weakened my limbs to numbness. Her face was bloody and her eyes were closed like they were when she was attacked by that cat. I blinked and stepped off of her, but she was back to normal. She jumped up and hissed at me, but when she saw my shocked and worried face, she flattened her fur and we both started crying. We ran to each other and rubbed each other. She finally understood me, but I had understood her too.
"I'm so sorry." I sniffled into her fur.
She shook her head.
"No, no I'm sorry. I've been a jerk lately, but your going through the same thing that I am and I have no reason to be mad at you." She whispered.
We both parted and looked into each other's eyes. My amber eyes met her pale blue ones. The tears in her eyes slowly streamed down her face.
By the time we got back to camp, we had all talked and laughed. We felt like a family again. And all the anger I had felt subsided and was overruled by the love for the family that I had left. Then it dawned on me that there was one thing left to make right.
    I walked to Timberstar's den.
"Timberstar? Can I talk to you please?" I called.
There was no answer. But the scent was strong.
    "Timberstar?" I called again.
When there still was no answer, I walked in. There, laying in front of me, was a motionless leader next to a maggot filled rabbit.
I ran to him, expecting death, but there was a shallow, raspy breath coming from him. He groaned every so often, and coughed once in a while too.
"Oakfoot!" I yowled running out of the den.
Of course, she came running to me.
"What is it?" She asked hastily.
I motioned for her to follow me and we ran back to Timberstar's den.
    "Oh dear StarClan!" She gasped.
He had stopped moving. She ran to him and prodded his stomach. She sighed and backed off of him, shaking her head.
"He has lost a life." She whispered sorrowfully.
Oh no.
"How many does he have left?" I asked warily.
She shook her head.
    "One."
    "No!" I gasped.
Timberstar was my leader! And not only that, but he was my mentor, and my friend. I couldn't lose him!
"Save his last life! Please!" I cried
She nodded and ran to her den to get herbs. When she returned, Timberstar had revived and was on his last life, this was our only chance to save him.
    "Hurry!" I yowled.
She made him open his mouth, and put a paste of what smelled like marigold and poppyseed on his tongue. Then she needed his throat until he swallowed it. He coughed, and sighed.
"Marigold, good for stomachache." He rasped.
She nodded.
"And poppyseed for the pain." She meowed.
He nodded and laid his head down.
Oakfoot turned to me when she was done.
"It's a good thing that you found him, he could of died. Bout since you found him, he will be fine." She meowed.
I thought of losing my leader and almost cried.
But I knew that someday, it was going to happen. But I was just glad that he was ok.
"When I become a warrior," I vowed after Oakfoot had walked away, "I will protect his last life, even if it means risking mine."
