"Shadefur!" I cried.
I struggled to my paws and stumbled to him. He looked up at me with fading eyes.
"Flamepelt?" He rasped.
I dug my nose into his fur.
"It's going to be OK." I murmured.
I noticed Cloudbreeze running up with cobwebs. Smokepelt followed behind holding a leaf full of poppy seeds. They treated his wounds as best they could.
"We need a medicine cat!" I yelled.
Shadefur looked up, revealing a deep bite in his neck.
"You've grown so strong. You all have." He mewed, looking at us three.
We all started crying softly.
"I love you, my sweet kits." He murmured.
"We love you too." We weeded.
Then he sighed, and his eyes slowly closed.
Timberstar padded up to us.
"You served me well, Shadefur." He murmured.
We all glared at him. I whipped to face him.
"Reedfur was the one to cause this! You knew about that night, you knew about this, you knew about who attacked my sister, you knew about all of it!" I hissed.
He stepped back with his ears folded.
"I... I did it to, uh, protect you!" He blurted, attempting to rest his tail on my shoulder.
I swatted at it. Then I remembered what Smokeytail had said.
"The last time I saw her, she was running into the bushes."
"He, he killed Mistystream! It wasn't your sister! You framed her to protect Reedfur! You have been leading me in all the wrong directions! You just want to stay in power. Waspclaw isn't the darkness, you are!" I snarled.
I stepped forward. Timberstar unsheathed his claws.
"You, will never be leader." He growled.
I noticed my siblings step forward, but Reedfur reappeared to stand in their way. I realized that Waspclaw had been one of the pursuers of the FireClan cats, so I was on my own.
"Time to finish what I started." He hissed.
The he leaped, tumbling me over. I was held down firmly, as he delivered the bite.
"No!" My siblings cried.
He stepped off of me just as the rest of the cats returned to camp. Waspclaw was among them.
"Flamepelt! No!" He screeched, running to my side.
Timberstar bolted out of camp, fleeing angry attempts of scratches from my siblings. Moonheart and Leaftail ran and bowled Reedfur off his feet. Their was a screech, which was immediately cut off. The evil cat lay limp, his amber eyes dim and expressionless. My eyes grew heavy as my siblings and Waspclaw gathered around me.
"Flamepelt, I never got to apologize!" Smokepelt cried.
I was unable to speak, which brought me more guilt of not being able to say that I forgave him.
"Flamepelt, please, please don't leave me!" Waspclaw pleaded.
I was finally able to rasp out a few quick words.
"I, will always, love you guys." I croaked.
The image of my family and friends grew dimmer, and finally, everything was dark.
