I dragged myself around the halls of the school with only one thought buzzing in my head, the only thought that was really keeping me alive; TOMORROW IS FRIDAY.
Yeah it was Thursday and like a normal human being, I was already tired of the week. Ironic. My week, however, actually started really well. Monday, when I was bored in Economics class, I read the lecturer's mind, finding out that he really wanted to go home to his wife. And in Business class I got these two classmates in trouble because I was poking them with my powers and they thought it was each other. Needless to say, they almost ended up in a fight, Mrs James had sent them both out of class.
It was so hilarious I almost slipped and told May what was happening. And when I realized I couldn't tell her, I boasted about it Monday night to Matt. My entertainment had to come to an end though when Matt went all serious on me telling me the dangers of what I was doing and how I was just making it easier for the Demon Lord to track me in public places. That scared the shit out of me, so Tuesday I returned to my normal boring school routine.
"Could you not look like that?" May questioned gathering her things from her locker "You're bumming me out too"
I just groaned and leaned my head sideways on the other lockers, closing my eyes, not even bothering about answering her.
"Good Morning Girls!" the most enthusiastic voice ever flooded my ears. Jason. I groaned again seeing his peppiness while he hugged May.
"Somebody please shoot him" I stated "Or me. Yes somebody please shoot me" I rephrased my plea then heard Jason and May laugh.
"I prefer shoot him" I jumped as I heard the whisper so close to my ears. I knew who it was already by the wonderful scent that filled my nostrils. I turned and hugged him.
"This is so refreshing" I said with my face buried in his chest breathing in all of his scent that I possibly could. That's how it was between us now. According to May we were 'dating' without actually going on dates, but she didn't need to know that part. I was growing attached to him, little by little and yes, I blame the mate bond for this.
"You say that every time" He reminded me with a chuckle.
"Because every time you smell good, okay?" I let go and was in the process of turning around to go to class when he pulled me back, holding my hands. His facial expression was no longer playful though, seriousness was written on his forehead in big, bold, capital letters.
"Tell me" I didn't even bother to ask if something was wrong. I already knew something was wrong. He was avoiding eye contact.
"Matt" I squeezed his hand trying to get him to look at me but he was looking everywhere else. It had to be bad if he was behaving like this.
"Matthew, you're scaring me" I told him honestly. That got his attention. He knew I was serious when I used his full name, it was kind of a thing we had.
"Tell me" I pushed again.
"I'm not coming by you tonight and I won't be in school tomorrow either" He stated looking apologetic.
"Okayyy... Why?" I questioned. He wasn't telling me everything. He looked around before continuing
"There are some things going on at the pack house and as soon-to-be Alpha, I need to be there to help take care of it." He still wasn't telling me everything. What was going on? I'll have to get the information from somebody else.
"So I'm seeing you Saturday then?" I asked somewhat hopeful and a smile came to his face this time.
"Yes most likely Saturday" That wasn't a very satisfying answer. But we started to walk to class and that's when I realized May and Jason were missing. Obviously the boys planned this out before so May wouldn't have to hear the supernatural, pack house business.
