"Fuck! Are you okay?" Matt recovered way quicker than I did and began assessing the situation. Children were being pushed behind their parents while adults started taking defensive positions against the source of the fire.
"Matt..." I trailed off not knowing exactly what to say. I just didn't want anything happen to him.
"Get yourself inside the house. Safely." He pushed me from under the tent of the bar to the house and then ran to where everyone was looking.
I was supposed to get myself inside safely while everybody else was out here defending me?
I think not.
I began looking around trying to understand what was going on. The only sound was the cackling of the little fire behind me. Everyone else was eerily silent, whether just standing in a defensive position or rushing their young ones to safety.
Fire. Right. I should do something about that before it gets bigger.
I held my hands out with my palms facing the fire and began to think about the water flowing out and extinguishing it. In seconds the water began to flow and the fire was out. Great.
What to do now?
Go to safety.
As soon as I came out from under the tent I realized where the fire came from. Floating in the air was a girl surrounded by what looked like blue flames. Curious, I started walking through the crowd, wanting to be closer to measure the situation better.
Who is this girl? Is she a witch? What does she want?
When I was finally close enough and a few people away from Matt, I saw a face of a girl I knew. From where? I had no idea. She had deep blue eyes like the flames around her though and I was sure I had never met someone with that shade of blue eyes. What the hell?
"Alpha Matt" She smirked at him "Where's your mate?" Matt visually stiffened when she asked that. My heart started beating faster too. She wanted me? I didn't even know her. I knew something bad was going to happen. I felt it this morning.
"My mate?" Matt asked confused.
"Oh come on. Don't play stupid Matt, we all know the power of your mate and the prophecy" Prophecy? Slow down there, I don't know anything about a prophecy.
"I don't know what you're talking about" Yeah, you better not know, Matt, because you didn't tell me anything about it.
"Aaaahhhhh!" The girl screamed out in frustration, throwing a fireball nearby which was now burning a tree that was in its path.
That was a bit over-dramatic.
Why was no-one trying to get rid of this girl?
"Olivia, please calm down" Matt cooed at her. Oh, he knows her? Why does he know her? How? I didn't know we knew her. I wanted to know her too.
No, I am not jealous. What are you talking about? Hey, he's mine! Nope, not jealous. I just didn't know we knew her by name.
"Don't tell me to calm down Matt." The girl, Olivia, sneered at him, coming onto the ground and walking closer to him, "We know what she could do to my mate" Her mate? So she has a mate? Good. And this was really about her mate? Not me? Great!
"He's not your mate" A new voice said, Alex.
Sooooo it's not about her mate? What is going on here? I am so confused. Alex looked so pissed, he was almost shaking. Is anybody else here confused? Or does someone want to clear this up for me? Please, be my guest.
