To say I was nervous would be the understatement of the century. Panicky, tense, skittish, jumpy, hysterical, edgy, uneasy, neurotic, trepidatious; words could not describe how I was feeling in this moment. It's been 41 minutes since everyone left. Yeah I was timing it. Lauren, May and I were in a room on the ground floor of the castle waiting for Alex to bring Liv so Lauren could break the spell on her. Lauren had all sorts of bottles and potions here and it was all foreign to me. All the other pack members who weren't fighting were in their rooms, anxiously waiting for their loved ones to arrive back home.

Same here. Matt promised me that he was going to come back.

"We have to have more babies" he said like it was the most obvious thing ever before he kissed me deeply and then left. He did also remind me to stay in the house and do not even think about leaving. But we all knew that wasn't going to happen.

It wasn't nice not knowing what was happening there. It was far enough too so that we didn't hear much details of what was occurring.

I so desperately wanted to know what was going on I closed my eyes and focused on Matt. In about five seconds images of him played on my eyelids. He was in his glorious white wolf form but his fur was already dirtied. He bared teeth at the vampire that was hissing at him.

"I can't do this. I can't just wait here. You two are waiting for something to do but I have nothing to do. I'm just here being useless." May's voice and pacing broke my concentration and my eyes fluttered open.

"May you're human and everybody out there is supernatural in some way. What are you going to do?" Lauren tried reasoning with her before I could say anything.

"I could fight" May continued.

"And so can they but again, they are not only human"

Before anybody could say anything else, the room door burst open. Lauren was in front of me in seconds ready to rip the person's head from their body. A bit dramatic I know.

"It's just me" I heard Alex's strained voice and peered out to see him holding an unconscious Liv in his hands.

He laid her down on the table we had prepared for this reason and Lauren went about busying herself with her task.

"You could do this right?" Alex asked still holding Liv's hand. He looked awful. He was only wearing pants which I guess he got after he changed back into his human form. He had scratches and burns almost everywhere. Did Liv do that? I felt sorry for him. His mate did that to him. I could not even begin to imagine how he felt.

"This is going to work right?" He asked Lauren again a little more forcefully when she didn't answer the first time.

"Let's hope" she answered this time as she poured some purple liquid into a glass and read the words from the book again.

"Okay I need your blood now" She said turning to me pointing the handle of a knife to me.

"My what?!" I screeched. Nobody said anything about blood. "You said you needed my help not my blood." I told her.

"Yeah your help in the form of your blood. It says here that the spell needs the blood of the true Witch King or Queen and we both know that's you" she said waving the knife for me to take it. "It's not much, just a drop" She promised. "Just cut your palm, it'll heal."

Okay so not much blood. I took the knife from her.

"If I faint I'm blaming you" I narrowed my eyes at her and I was sure if we weren't under these conditions she would've laughed.

I took a deep breath and made the gash along my palm, tears welling up in my eyes from the stinging pain. Lauren took my hand and held it over the glass chanting some words in a different language.
