"You have to promise not to tell anyone of our existence if you reject my son." Lucas informed me, "or there will be consequences."
"I won't tell anyone and I'm not rejecting your son, Lucas." I told him
"What?" Matt asked, I could hear the hope in his voice. I smiled at him.
"I just need some time to think about all this. You can't just drop things like this on me and expect me to make a decision in 2 seconds."
"She has a point" Julie agreed.
"Okay I'll allow you some time to make a decision. You may all leave now. Matt take Lilly home."
Everyone began to sit up from their chairs but I stood there staring at Lauren. I wonder if I could ask her to do something. I always loved fairies and witches. Always wanted to be one. Seeing one work their magic in real life would be like a dream come through for me. She smiled at me.
"Is everything okay there?" She asked. Ouu here's my chance, I could ask her to woo me.
"I was just wondering..." I started but felt a bit embarrassed to finish. I was being childish asking her to do magic for me.
"I could read your mind if you allow me to" She chuckled.
"Really?"
"No."
The responses came from me and Matt at the same time. I turned to see him standing at the side of me.
"What'd you mean 'no'?" I asked him confused. He has no right over me. He can't make my decisions for me. He looked at me as if realization finally found him. Good, he knows. I turned back to Lauren,
"Please?" I gave her my best smile.
"Sure, you can think about something and I'll tell you what it is" Okay what to think about? Hmm... Aha! Cookies! I so was not childish.
Lauren then put two fingers on her temples and closed her eyes while I was thinking about a plate of smoking fresh, chocolate chip cookies. After about two seconds Lauren gasped and her eyes flew open, hands dropping from her temples. Was something wrong? I stood up from my chair.
"Are you okay?" Stephen asked his mate holding her from the side. She just nodded her head when she saw me standing, stepping back into reality.
"I'm sorry about that. But you were thinking of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies" She said in her normal sweet voice. I chuckled and told her that it was correct and then Matt and I left the room, heading towards the elevator. I wondered how he was feeling knowing that I basically had all the power in my hands of whether he lived, lived miserably or died.
"What are you going to do?" I asked, killing the silence in the elevator.
"I'm going to try to be your friend like a normal human. I'm going to be here for you if you have any questions about anything. I'm going to try to wait patiently until you make your decision- which I really hope won't be long from now- no matter what it is." Wow he was being really nice about this whole thing.
"So you're saying you're basically gonna try to win me over" It wasn't a question, I was stating this as we walked out the elevator. He chuckled.
"You do know I'm a werewolf and I could kill you right this instant if I get really angry right?" He asked in an amused tone.
"Oh I know you could, but you won't" I replied smartly.
"Are you testing me?" His right eyebrow rose slightly higher than the left one.
