I'm soooo tired of driving around. I need to get out of this car.

"Andre, can we stop for a while. My legs feel frozen. And I kinda need you to rest a little too."

We both exit the car after parking at a rest stop. It feels great to stretch my legs and arms. I yawn. "Let's take a walk."

Andre takes my hand in his as we walk towards a marked path. There's that feeling again. His hands are so soft. Although he's physically with me, I don't think he was mentally here.

"Hey, um... Andre?"

He doesn't look at me when he replies with his "mhm?" My mouth opens ready to say something, but no words come out.

"Umm... where were you going before you decided to take me home?"

We continue to walk hand in hand.

"Nowhere."

"Oh. Where's that?" I try to make a joke. Although Andre isn't having it. His grip on my hand loosens. I quickly scan my eyes around me to try and find something else to talk about.

Trees. Path. Sky. More trees. Ugh.

"So were you really going nowhere? You were just... driving?"

"And hoping I'd find out where to go."

I lick my lips and place my free hand in my back pocket.

"Don't you have a place to stay?"

He shakes his head.

"Wow. You really fooled me." Shit. Shit. Shit. Why can't I keep my thoughts in my head?

"So now you're judging me... great." He lets my hand go and crosses his arms over his chest.

I'm quick to respond. "No! No! It's not like that. I just..."

"You just based your first impression of me on my appearance." He cuts me off.

I take a breath. "Andre, you're right. I did base my first judgements on your appearance. Although, even if you were wearing a ripped shirt and muddy jeans and maybe even only had one shoe with a hole at your toe, I would still talk to you. It wouldn't make your personality any different." I don't know what more I can say.

"I'm sorry I dragged you in this mess. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have gotten involved with him."

Andre places his hands on my shoulders and moved my whole body to face him. Then he pulls me in tight and hugs me.

"I'm just glad I met you."

I return the hug and then, we continue walking.

I'm not sure how long it's been exactly, but for a while, Andre and I just joke around and laugh. I found out a lot about him during that trip. We get along well.

Soon the fun is over and we're back on the road with less than twenty hours till we reached the city.

I never realized how far from home Jeremy took me. I was so obsessed with the idea of him and I becoming something more that I wasn't paying attention to where I actually was.

Hmm..Jeremy. I haven't thought about him in a while. I wonder where he might be right now...
