Solane is standing right in front me. It's really her. A tear falls right down the side of my cheek, and then another, and another. I could have basically cried a river.
I pull Solane into the tightest hug ever. And she returns it. It feels like she's trying to make up for every hug she had missed in the last two weeks. We both somehow find us sitting on the ground still trapped in the hug. I missed her aroma. Who am I kidding? I missed her as a whole.
"Stella, don't cry."
We finally let go of each other. A smile spreads across my face.
"Solane. I'm trying not to, but my emotions are just confused right now and oh my gosh I just missed you so much. I can't believe you're actually okay!"
She hugs me again and we stay like that for a long time. "Stella, I missed you too. So much. I'm going to explain everything to you. But first, you need to tell me what happened while I was gone. We need to find Melissa."
My heart starts to beat faster. This is the real moment of truth. It's finally time to explain to my not really missing best friend that our other best friend gave me a concussion and had me hospitalized before running away to God knows where.
"Yea.. It's kind of a long story..."
