I look up at Faine with my head still resting on him.
"I never thought I'd actually see my sister graduate." I bite my lip trying to hold back my tears.
"It's one of those miracles," he replies kissing my forehead.
I smile and readjust myself on him.
Then a wave of claps startle me and I flinch. I quickly sit up straight and add to the ovation. Faine laughs and I giggle.
"Hey, I'm gonna go use the restroom," I tell him before getting up. He stands up as well.
"I'll go with you."
I grab my sweater and put it on over my head. As I use my hands to remove my hair from inside my clothes, I notice an elderly lady looking in my direction with wide eyes. I peek behind me to see if one of the graduates are doing something crazy, but they all just sit patiently waiting for the next part of the event to start.
"Sharon?"
I quickly look up at Faine and snap into reality before following him up the aisle to the bathroom. We talk as we walk.
"What happened back there? You kinda like.. zoned out."
"Yeah.. um... There was just this lady watching me. I don't know, kinda like I was an alien or something."
"I'm sure she wasn't looking specifically looking at you." He smirks.
I nudge his elbow and chuckle. "Yea, she was definitely watching you. I hear older people are going for the younger ones these days,"
Faine grabs my arm and spins me around swiftly into a kiss right in front of the restroom building.
"It's not the same when it's not you."
I look into his eyes and playfully push him off me before entering the bathroom.
