I'm still in the dress I wore last night. It's a little dirty, but manageable.
"Good morning sunshine. What do you want to do today?" Jeremy asks me and I have immediate suspicions. What the hell.... I'm seriously confused. "Jeremy, are you on something?" He laughs a nervous laugh. I don't think he understands how serious I am right now.
"No....I'm not."
"Then why are you calling me sunshine and asking how I'm feeling? That's very suspect of you.."
Jeremy gives me a nervous and cheesy smile. I admit, I like this side of him. Flirty and relaxed. I shoot a smile right back at him.
"LOL...okay then. I guess we can just go sightseeing then. It doesn't have to be anywhere far." I bite my lip. All the feelings I'm having right now, it's all too much for me.
Jeremy agrees with my idea and after about an hour of driving, he parks the car and we get out.
I stretch my arms and legs. Sitting in a car for days, hours, even minutes really gets to my body.
The fresh air blows a strand of my hair away from my face. All I can smell is nature. Green grass and trees all around me. Right now I'm feeling pretty earthy. Then I remember, I have to change my clothes.
I look over at Jeremy who's prominently watching me enjoy the nice weather.
I squint my eyes and cross my arms over my chest. "You know, not only is it rude to stare, but it's especially rude when someone needs to change."
Jeremy runs his hands through his hair and coughs as if he wasn't looking at me. It's so sexy when he does that, but I'll never let him know that's what I think.
"I wasn't staring at you," he says before quickly turning around and facing his back towards me.
Right. Sure, he wasn't staring. I open the trunk and pick up a crop top and ripped jeans. Under my clothes is a small notebook with Jeremy's name on it.
I peep around the corner of the car to make sure that Jeremy can't see me before I slip my jeans on under the dress and stuff the book into the side pocket of my jeans.
Now's the hard part. How am I gonna get the crop top on without Jeremy seeing the scar on my back? A few cars pass by us. Time is ticking.
At this point, I have no other choice. Sighing, I pull my dress off over my head leaving me with only my bra on. The permanent reminder of my past is completely visible. I very quickly pull on my top and tie my hair up into a high ponytail. The top is just long enough to cover the scar. Thank God.
"Okay let's go." I yell out after Jeremy. He gets up and we begin walking across the highway and through a forest like area.
