After Stella explains everything that had happened in great detail to me, I become speechless.
"Stella, all of this was just one big misunderstanding. But we can't worry about the past. Right now we need to find Melissa."
After explaining all I knew, I take a minute to think of all the places Melissa could be.
"She doesn't really know a lot of places. She's like me. We've barely been outside of the town. There can't be too many options on where she's hiding," I point out.
"You're right. Not to be mean or anything, but she's not brave enough to hitchhike or stay hidden for too long," Melissa continues.
"That's not true. She's hitchhiked before."
"Umm... Solane. Yeah it is. She told us. Remember when we were playing "Never Have I Ever" the day she secretly threw a party at that lake reserve or whatever and she got caught? Oh my gosh, the look on her dad's face was priceless!-"
"OMG! Stella I think I know where she is!"
Stella looks confused, but yet she still smiles profusely. I quickly pull out Melissa's phone determined to look through her maps search history.
"Shit."
"What?"
"I don't know the freaking password." Pissed off, my eyes roll by themselves.
"Oh. I know the password."
My head jolts in Stella's direction. I could have kissed her in that moment. My eyes are huge. She definitely knows I'm waiting for her to tell me the password.
"It's 5..68..370. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it. I only know that because that's how you spell "lover" in numbers. It's her favorite adjective and one time-"
"OK, great Stella. Now's not the time for a backstory."
As soon as I find the address to Melissa's lake house, Stella and I jump into her car before speeding off.
