Awsten's POV:
When I woke up, I saw Isla was still asleep. Her head was resting on my chest and her arm wrapped around my waist. She looked beautiful.
I gently stroked her hair out of her face. She let an adorable little mumble as a smile painted her face. After a couple of seconds her eyelids began to flutter before sleepily opening.
"Morning beautiful." I smiled, letting the pad of my thumb stroke across the smooth skin of her cheek.
"Mmm.. Morning." She said letting her eyelids close again, snuggling up closer with me.
"You wanna go get breakfast?" I asked trying to ease her out of her sleep.
"5 more minutes." She said sleepily. Her hand moved up to my chest and clutched the t-shirt I was wearing.
"Okay baby, 5 minutes." She smiled as I traced circles on her upper arm. I sat watching her slow and steady breathing, thinking about how calm and peaceful she looked.
After what seemed like ten minutes, I made another attempt at waking her up.
"Buttercup, come on, wake up." I planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
"I wanna stay here forever." She smiled still refusing to open her eyes.
"I promise when I come back for your birthday that we'll spend an entire day in bed, cuddling and watching chick flicks." I giggled.
"I don't want you to go back to America." She whined, her eyes still shut, holding onto the last moments of sleep.
"I have to. It will only be 3 weeks, then I'll give you as many cuddles and kisses as you want." Her eyes started to flicker open.
"I'm going to miss you." She said, eyes now wide and awake. They looked glazed over but I couldn't tell if that was due to sleep or if she was genuinely upset.
"I'm going to miss you too." I noticed tears forming in her eyes. "What's wrong?" I asked pulling her closer.
"I don't know." She sighed. "I guess I just don't want this feeling to go away." Tears started to fall onto my t-shirt.
"What feeling?" I asked, wiping her tears away with my thumb.
"Feeling okay. Safe. Happy." She gave me a weak smile.
"I'm only a phone call away. I will leave meetings, get up at like 3 in the morning, or even spend the whole day talking to you, if that's what you need. I'll always be around." I smiled.
"Awsten, stop quoting your own song lyrics." She laughed, wiping her tears away and sitting up slightly. "You have things to do and worry about, I can't be that needy girlfriend that makes you text me all day."
"You're not needy." I sighed, why did she always put herself down? Can't she see how amazing she is?
"Isla, I thought I made it clear when I asked you to be my girlfriend, that I want you in my life.
I want to speak to you about how your day went or how it didn't go. I want to be there for you when you have something good happen or if you don't feel like getting out of bed. I want you.
I know it's going to be hard having a relationship with a 5 hour time difference, but we'll do it. And it won't be long until it'll be your birthday and I'll meet your family. Then I'll have to fly back to America for tour rehearsal, and you can either come with me then or meet me two weeks later for the US tour." I smiled and kissed her forehead.
"I'm sorry. I'm just scared. I've never had anything like this before and I don't want to loose it. I don't want to loose you." Her eyebrows furrowed.
