Chapter Twenty Four

Awsten's POV:

"Hey Otto?" It was just us in the green room.

"What's up?" He smiled.

"I wanna do something nice for Isla tomorrow. It's our day off and she's been feeling shitty recently, I just want her to have fun but I don't know what to do." I ran my fingers through my hair.

"You like her so much, man!" He chuckled and I blushed.

"I guess I do. But seriously help me!" I exclaimed.

"What does she like?" Otto asked.

"Animals, music, art, spirituality, gaming, nature, I don't know, I can't think!" I checked the notification I got on my phone but it wasn't important.

"You have so much to go off there! Go to an arcade, or a museum, or the zoo, I'm sure she'll be happy just doing anything with you." I sighed.

"No, they're not special. Plus, I think she's against zoos. I want to be like a cute rom-com, I want her to feel special and beautiful because she is." I smiled thinking about her.

"What about a picnic?" I shook my head.

"It's too cold." I huffed.

"Ice skating?" I thought about it.

"Maybe... but I'm not sure." Otto sighed getting slightly frustrated with me. "Wait I think I know what to do!" I stood up, excited.

"What?" Otto asked a little surprise by my outburst.

"She'll be missing her animals! What if i found another animal sanctuary, nearby?" Otto nodded approvingly.

"Then we could come back to the bus and get changed then go for dinner. Fuck this is an idea and a half!" I held my hand up to high five Otto, who returned it.

I sat back down and went onto my phone to look up nearby animal sanctuaries.

I found a monkey sanctuary, 12 miles away from the venue that we would get to by the morning. I checked to see if it was open and it was. God this was perfect!

"Otto, I found a place. Operation: make Isla happy, is full steam ahead." I did a little victory dance making Otto laugh at me.

"I mean you still have to ask her if she wants to go out with you tomorrow, she could have plans or something." Otto pointed out a flaw in my excitement.

"Yeah, you're right. I'm going to go ask her." I said hopping up out of my seat and going to find Isla.

I found her backstage, fiddling with a mixing console. Her eyebrows were furrowed in concentration, she looked so cute.

"Hey!" I said bringing her out of her trance, causing her to jolt in surprise.

"Jesus Christ, Awsten! You know I'm a jumpy person. Stop sneaking up on me." She had her hand covering her heart dramatically.

"I didn't sneak up on you, you were just too zoned out." I laughed and she shook her head and smiled, it made butterflies stir in my stomach.

"I guess so, did you want something?" She asked.

"Um yeah, what are you doing tomorrow?" I asked kinda nervous.

"Probably, constantly refreshing my Twitter feed in boredom, why?" I laughed.

"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out? We could call it a date." I smiled, blushing.

"Oh my god! Did THE Awsten Knight ask me on a date?" She said in a sarcastic fangirl voice.
