Chapter 1

Elijah's POV

For once I am actually happy. I actually got happiness. I got it with someone I have loved for five hundred years. I know with my brother wanting to sacrifice her all those years ago he would not accept this so quickly that's why I invited her to come with me to New Orleans. I know that a week earlier she sent Niklaus a letter telling him that someone was plotting against him a so called Jane-Anne Devereaux. He wanted me to come check it out with him so I decided to invite my dear Katerina along. After the whole thing with the cure and me dumping her she contacted me again to apologize for killing Jeremy and lying about it. we met up and talked, just talked all night long. she had told me every single lie she has told and every thing she had done to survive. Its all I wanted from her. I wanted her to tell me everything about her so I could love her the way I wanted to. Now I know that she trusts me and I can trust her. I just hope Niklaus will let her and I be together.

Katherine's POV

"I am scared to do this Elijah. He'll kill me the first chance he gets." I say packing my bag he runs his hand on my cheek

"Katerina, I love you I will make sure he doesn't do anything to hurt you. Klaus is family but if he even gets as close as to put a finger on you he will be dealt with. There is nothing to be afraid of."

A tear rolled down my cheek. Elijah looks at me resting his hand against mine.        

"Hey, don't cry I promise nothing will happen to you." he assures me wiping the tears from my face.

"I'm just really scared of him I mean he killed my parents Elijah. If I knew I wouldn't have fled." I keep crying as he puts my head on his shoulder

"Shhhh I know. If I knew I would have stopped him. It's okay everything will be okay." he replies rubbing my back

When I am done crying I look to the mirror behind Elijah and wipe my face. I raise my head up and look at my face. My eyes were red. It felt like I had ben crying for hours. I haven't cried like that in front of someone else in forever. I finish packing my bags and we get them in the car and start driving. We get in the interstate and he rests his hand on mine. In about five hours we are making our way into New Orleans. people crowd the sidewalks I almost forgot how full of life this city is. I was in New Orleans around the early 1800's. We got there at night time so the streets were getting a little crowded so we had to go around town instead of into it. Plus Elijah didn't want anyone knowing he was in town yet. We got to this building and stopped.

"Katerina stay here."

"Wait why?" I asked

"Klaus is somewhere here. I have to go see what's happening." he says as he gets out the car I go to object but he is already on a balcony in front of Klaus.

"Katherine." I turn around when I hear my name and I see a tall black man standing behind me

"Oh my god. Marcel is that you?" I asked as I hugged him

"In the flesh. What are you doing in New Orleans? You do know that Klaus Mikaelson is here right?"

"Yeah I'm the one who sent him here. I heard that a witch was plotting against him and decided to tell him plus I had to get him out of mystic falls so I could go back because of course you know the whole ordeal." I finished

"So if you got him out what are you doing here?"

"Someone I had thought I lost forever came back to me and convinced me that Klaus wouldn't hurt me."

"How does that person figure that?"

"Elijah. You remember him right?"

"Yeah how could I forget the family that left me for dead. Left me to burn along with my city."

"Your city? Last time I was here it was Klaus's."

"Yeah since he thought that I was dead and his father ran him out of town it belongs to me. I was just talking to him about it before I left. and I see Elijah is up there with him right now. I should go before Klaus sees me with you. I wouldn't want him to know you are here without Elijah as your escort. It was nice seeing you again Katherine I hope I see a lot of you if Klaus doesn't hurt you." and with that he was gone

Elijah's POV

I left Katherine in the car to go see Klaus who I heard talking to marcel right before he left.

"Elijah I was wondering when you would get here. Took you long enough." Klaus notices me

"So Marcel is running New Orleans? How did that happen? We were positive that he was dead."

"He wont be running it for long. I'm going to claim it back. This is our town Elijah I am king. I'm not going to let it be run by the likes of him. I also have another reason that I came besides the letter Katerina sent me. do you remember that werewolf girl Katherine had killed? Well I recently found out that she is with my child." he finished

"How is that possible?"

"As Jane-Anne sister Sophia informed me since we had became vampires by magic my werewolf side came through and I got her pregnant."

"Did you not find Jane-Anne? And do believe her?"

"Marcel killed her for doing magic in the quarter before I got here. He has all sorts of new rules. In the morning I want you to come by the old plantation. Ill show you the pregnant girl."

I went to say something but he was alredy gone. I got back down to the car where Katherine was waiting.

"So what you said is true Jane-Anne was plotting against Klaus and Hayley is pregnant with child. how did you kow that last part?"

"Well after Hayley thought I sent William to kill her after her and Klaus did the nasty she called me told me that she had seen a witch doctor here and they told her and that she didn't know what to do. She asked me to come here but I told her I couldn't. But then you came back for me and you convinced me to come with you." she finishes

"So Hayley is pregnant and Klaus wants me to go and see her tomorrow. And you are coming." I say as we get in the car and drive off.
