this whole summer had been the best summer of your life. mainly because of joji.

the summer consisted of sunsets at the beach, kisses, sandy sweaters, lying on roofs, messy hair, milkshakes, soft hair and chapsticks.

the texts at 3am, "this reminded me of you", writing in diary's, peaches, getting wasted, handwritten letters and him saying the stars are overrated but it's only because he secretly thinks youre more beautiful than they could ever be.

it wasn't until a warm night in july that you realized you were in love with him. the wind rustled our clothes and made my hair get caught in my lipgloss.

the waves crashing down hard on the shore, and the sunset casting an orange glow on everything.

he was talking about something, but i just kept looking at his eyes, "were you even listening?" he grinned, shaking his head.

"no, sorry" you laughed, joji looked at you, making your stomach turn. he lifted up his hand and tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear, and that's when you realized, how in love you were.

now you were awake at 3am, sitting in bed, looking out of the window, thinking about the love of your life.

your phone buzzed and your picked it up, it was a text. joji: you up for a walk?. you grinned and quickly replied. you: definitely.

we decided to meet at our usual corner in 10 minutes. you stood up from bed and grabbed your jean shorts that were on your chair.

you slipped those on in a matter of seconds and then got your vans on, since it was pretty warm out, no jacket was needed, so you grabbed your phone and head out of your apartment.

after the short walk out of your apartment and down the street. you noticed joji resting against a street light, a cigarette hanging loosely from his lips.

"hi" you mumbled. after knowing him for the entire summer he still made you nervous.
"hi" he grinned, stomping his cigarette out, his eyes flicking over your body, and you immediately regretted your tank top with no bra and your high waisted pretty short, shorts.

"so, you ready?" he smirked, you nodded. and you both started on your walk. the late summer air was warm and gave you a nostalgic feeling.

"why'd you want to go for a walk this late?" you asked, looking up at him. "i couldn't sleep, and i missed talking with you" he replied, keeping his focus on the street in front of us.

"i missed you too.." you muttered softly. maybe you shouldn't tell him, and he can just be a summer fling you fell in love with, and that's okay.

you both continued talking about this concert you wanted to go to, and how perfect this summer was.

a peaceful silence fell over you both and joji stopped, "you wanna go to our spot?" he grinned, "definitely", you nodded.

your "spot" was jojis apartment complex's roof. you both continued your walk in silence back to jojis apartment.

we walked through the lobby and up all the stairs, to the roof entrance. joji smiled, looking down at you.

"what?" you smiled nervously, "nothing" he whispered, opening the door for you.
you both walked over to the spot you had claimed yours, and joji pulled out a blanket.

you both lay down and stared at the sky. maybe you should just tell him.

"hey joj?" you whispered, "yeah?" he replied, turning to face me. "thank you for this summer" you sighed, turning back up to look at the sky.

"no, thank you" he grinned, looking back up at the night sky. "but i gotta tell you something" you spoke softly. "oh?".

"i t-think i'm in love with you."

he opened his mouth like he was going to stay something but closed. a silence fell over us and your heart was beating so much it was hard to breathe.

you turned your attention back to the sky then you felt jojis hand place it's self on your hand. "i love you too" he whispered, leaning down and kissing you softly.

"i don't know if you realized or not, but i fell in love with you the first week of knowing you" he chuckled, "really?" you asked, still shocked.

"of course, how could i not fall in love with you?" he grinned, interlocking your fingers with his.
